Free going sort who has looked to have limited ability in point-to-points. Opportunity to race at this trip without obstacles has to be considered a positive.
In capable hands but yet to open his account despite market expctations. Has struggled to stay 2m4f so this could be a wise move.
Showed a willing attitude to fight back at Dingley last month and he is getting better with each run.

Showed first worthwhile form on last point-to-point start, but he was still beaten a fair way and the amount of headgear warrants caution.

Outpaced before staying on to take second behind an easy winner in a five-runner event last time. Still has something to prove.

Needed all of the 2m2f they covered in a Garthorpe flat race in April when conditions were softer than are likely here. As a daughter of Shantou there are some reservations she will handle the ground if it turns fast.
Winner of a flat race at Barbury before finishing fifth at Aintree. Looks held by Rapaport on that form and she might want some rain.
Recorded the slowest time of the two flat races at Bitterley in April. Clearly held by Rapaport and Strike Hollow on Aintree running last month.

Forecasts

Shalltoo (1/1), Rapaport (3/1), Lily The Pink (8/1), Strike Hollow (11/1), The Unmentionable (12/1), Bit More (14/1), Parsons Avenue (14/1), Askrumor (25/1), Milliondollarbill (33/1)

Verdict

The mares receive a useful allowance here and SHALLTOO, Rapaport, Strike Hollow and Lily The Pink have won similar flat races on point-to-point tracks. The former was a €20,000 purchase and justified market support to score at Garthorpe. Her pedigree raises concerns she may want softer ground, but connections are unlikely to risk her if conditions are considered too fast. Rapaport holds a few of these on Aintree running, whilst Parsons Avenue has shaped like a doubtful stayer in point-to-points and is one to note in the market for a good yard.
  1. Shalltoo
  2. Rapaport
  3. Parsons Avenue
