Horse A-Z
Won twice in 12 Flat starts but has shown nothing in two hurdles efforts for his new yard and hard to fancy here.

7/4
A winner on debut in a Wexford bumper and while he hasn't managed to get his head in front since, he's largely run well in defeat. Needs to learn to settle better and hood retained here combined with a first-time tongue-tie.
Has just won once in over three years on the Flat and yet to make any sort of impression in two starts since switched to this sphere.

German Flat winner but tailed off on both hurdles starts and likely to need more time.

4/1
Runner-up in a point-to-point towards the end of last year and made a promising debut at Killarney last time when fourth of 18. Will improve for that experience and he has leading claims here.

12/1
Point-to-point winner but still a maiden under Rules and while he has run some fair races in defeat, he will need others to under perform to have any say in this race.
Still a maiden after six starts but went close to getting off the mark at Clonmel in September. Entitled to come on for his comeback run and not without a chance here.
8

100/1
Shown nothing in four starts to date, tailed off on two of them and pulled up on the remaining two. Hard to fancy on all known form.
9
Horse silk
20/1
Showed some promise in three bumper efforts but has shown very little in two runs over hurdles. May need a step up in trip to be seen to best effect.
Produced a promising effort on debut in a Roscommon bumper but has struggled since that run in 2016. Entitled to have needed the run at Punchestown last time but has a bit to prove at present.
11
Horse silk
25/1
Unplaced on six Flat starts and has taken his time to show anything over hurdles. Better effort at Downpatrick last time when fifth of 20 and he would be of interest if he can learn to settle better in his races.

5/1
Showed very little in point-to-points but there's been some promise in a couple of his starts under Rules. Will need to improve to have a say here.
Shown very little ability in her four point-to-point starts. Pedigree suggests she would want further than this and hard to fancy on Rules debut. Positive jockey booking at least.

Tailed off last on only Flat start and showed very little on hurdles debut when beaten 40L. Others hold stronger claims.

Forecasts

Pass Hymn (7/4), Ballybrowney Jack (7/2), Arahecan (4/1), Ozzie's Way (5/1), Ard Na Carraig (12/1), Court Tycoon (20/1), Justice Ears (25/1), All For Nothing (50/1), Molly Barrys Cross (50/1), Grinditout (50/1), Dia Del Sol (50/1), Ballyhubbock (50/1), Clarior Ex Obscuro (50/1), Rockview Emperor (100/1), Communion Day (100/1), Viempa (100/1)

Verdict

ARAHECAN made a promising Rules debut last time and given he's sure to improve for that run, he could be hard to beat in a winnable race. Pass Hymn would be the danger in first-time headgear. A reproduction of Ballybrowney Jack's run at Clonmel could be enough to see him hit the frame here.
  1. Arahecan
  2. Pass Hymn
  3. Ballybrowney Jack
