Handicapper has dropped him another chunk after a dreadful effort at Wincanton last time and he simply appears to be out of love with the game at present. Trip an unknown too, and it all looks too much to ask.
Some terrible looking form figures to his name but it masks the fact he's got plenty of ability on a going day, and he does go well from the front for Ally Sterling. Worry is he'll need this after absence, but well handicapped and hard to rule out.
Very well handicapped these days, being some 8lb lower than his last win at Wincanton over a year ago, but recent efforts rather suggest he's gone off the boil a bit. Hard to be confident about his chances.
Easy winner at Chepstow last October but handicapper didn't take kindly to it and he's struggled since then. Starting to come back down to something more realistic but yard still quiet and others are preferred.
Unlucky to bump into a well-treated rival here two starts ago and made no mistake at Warwick last time, thrashing a field with plenty to spare. Handicapper gives her a proper kick with a 13lb rise though, so needs a bit more again here.
Was found the right race at Kelso last September and delivered, although it was far from easy and he's still 5lb higher here. Recent form is uninspiring, although would have found the trip too short last time, so may do a bit better here.
Loves it here, and won this from a 3lb lower mark last year. Getting on in years and hasn't had the advantage of a warm-up run this time around, so may find others a bit sharper. Passed over despite that good course record.
Seemed to appreciate the return to fences when a winner at Warwick in April, although it was hard work and the second hasn't advertised the form. 6lb higher here, and might find a few of these a bit too classy on ground plenty lively enough.
Still looks nicely handicapped on point-to-point form, and was a winner under Rules at Hereford when last seen, but that was back in November. Conditions fine, but might need this run to sharpen him up a bit, and others preferred.
Jumps, stays and acts on this ground, so has a few plus points, but overall win record is very moderate and he tends to come good in lesser class than this. May find a few of these a bit too quick at the business end of things.

Forecasts
Red Giant (3/1), High Counsel (9/2), Goodnight Charlie (11/2), Moss On The Mill (6/1), Phangio (15/2), Cusheen Bridge (8/1), Exxaro (9/1), Troika Steppes (11/1), Charlie Mon (25/1), Schindler's Prince (25/1), Definitly Grey (25/1)
Goodnight Charlie looked a horse on good terms with himself when galloping the opposition into the ground at Warwick and even with a hefty weight rise, should go well again, but a chance is taken on TROIKA STEPPES coming back fit and well after an absence. If he is, then he's very well handicapped and he's won more competitive races than this in the past. He's all or nothing though, so a win bet only is advised. Cusheen Bridge looks ready for a try at this trip and could hit the frame. Schindler's Prince could have done with a recent run but loves it here and isn't discounted.
- Troika Steppes
- Goodnight Charlie
