Not fluent and made mistakes when pulled up in a Navan novice chase when last seen in December. Acts on the ground but plenty of improvement required here.

Needs to get back to the form that saw the nine-year-old win a Gowran Park handicap chase in September. Out of sorts recently and looks opposable. Wears first-time cheekpieces.

Without a win in seven chase starts but appears to need a change of luck running well in a number of efforts including finishing third of 11 in a Punchestown handicap chase last month. Place claims.

6/1
Point-to-point, bumper and hurdles winner who has showed definite signs of ability over regulation fences including finishing second of five 2¾L adrift of Crosshue Boy before a 7L defeat at Tramore in April. Step up in trip likely to suit.

Gained a second win when landing a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse just over a year ago. Badly struggling on his most recent starts though over fences and hard to make a solid case for him given the nature of the defeats.

Well held off his new mark since winning a Downpatrick handicap chase last August. Handicapper relents here but that may not be enough.

Returned from more a year off with excellent second to Dorkas in August before confirming well-being when third the following month. The gelding returns here from yet another break and may be best watched on return.

Forecasts

Nobody Home (5/1), Burndown (11/2), Showem Silver (11/2), Consharon Boy (6/1), Na Trachtalai Abu (6/1), William Du Berlais (10/1), As De Pique (12/1), Exactoris (12/1), Mr Boss Man (16/1), Justmemyselfandi (16/1), Deputy's Pass (20/1), Doolough Lad (66/1)

Verdict

It could be time for the Gigginstown Stud-owned BURNDOWN to step up to the plate here following a number of promising chase starts since August last year including a promising seasonal debut at Punchestown last month. Rachael Blackmore can only be a positive note for the Presenting gelding to claim victory here seeing off the intentions of last time out winner Na Trachtalai Abu and Justmyselfandi in what looks a competitive and tricky contest.
  1. Burndown
  2. Na Trachtalai Abu
  3. Justmemyselfandi
