Unable to halt alarming slide in form in a number of disappointing handicap hurdle defeats towards the end of the year. Given a chance by the handicapper here and ticks a few boxes in this contest.
C&D winner in April off a 9lb lower mark before finishing fourth of 23 beaten 9L as beaten favourite in a Punchestown handicap hurdle last month. Acts on the ground and deserves a market check here.
Will have disappointed connections in three dull handicap hurdle displays since December last year. May find life a little tough here.
C&D winner here last June but has generally failed to carry the 10lb penalty when well held in four handicap hurdles since. Handicapper has given 6lb back to the gelding and goes well on the ground.
Beaten favourite last time out in a Sligo handicap hurdle finishing fifth of 11 unable to quicken under pressure on the good to yielding ground last month. Could struggle still racing off a 7lb higher mark than last win.
Course winner that has been terribly out of form since winning at this meeting last season. Out of sorts recently and this is a tough ask.
Looks to be flattered by finishing second of 12 in a Limerick handicap hurdle in December the only bright spot in a number of dismal displays since October last year. Well held latest at Tipperary last month and others preferred.
Was in the process of running her best race over hurdles when falling two out at Clonmel in March before disappointing when beaten 104L in a Wexford maiden hurdle last month. Plenty to prove in this contest.
Eight race maiden over hurdles but no forlorn hope looking at two promising starts at Thurles and Clonmel since March. Could well hit the frame here.
Mare that has being well held in two maiden hurdle starts to date including when tailed off in a Punchestown contest last month beaten 56L. Out of sorts recently and others preferred.
Generally well beaten in a number of hurdle starts since November and hard to construct a case for here.
23-race maiden without a win in seven hurdle starts and well held in three handicaps since December. Hard to fancy on recent evidence.
Pieces of promise when finishing second of 11 beaten 11L in a Wexford handicap chase last month. Needs to transfer that form to hurdling where he remains without a win in 30 starts.
Popular veteran but his best days seem to be behind him now beaten over 161L in his last three handicap hurdle starts.
Forecasts
Running In Heels (4/1), Cairnshill (9/2), Dundeedy Lad (5/1), The Church Gate (13/2), Cadawill (13/2), The Brig (8/1), About You (16/1), Yes Pat (16/1), Le Hachette (16/1), War Of The Pennys (25/1), More Information (33/1), Glasson Lad (33/1), In Our Blood (40/1), Im Waiting (50/1)
Gavin Cromwell has the nine-year-old RUNNING IN HEELS in good order currently and the C&D winner can confirm his form on the surface when winning at Market Rasen for Rebecca Menzies in November on good ground. Dundeedy Lad can give the selection the most to think about while Cadawill and War Of The Pennys can engage for the remaining place.
