Victorious on two of his last three starts including over an extended 3m at Towcester (good-to-firm) last time out. One to note off a 5lb higher mark.
Beaten 16L when second of three at Perth (3m, good) in a novice contest last time. Making just his second handicap appearance in this contest.
Failed to complete on three of his four outings since winning over C&D on heavy ground last September. Wears cheekpieces for the first time.
Useful horse under Rules a few years ago and winner of a point-to-point on good ground in April. Pulled up in a valuable hunter chase subsequently and debuting for a new yard.
Put a disappointing hurdles effort behind him when finishing runner-up at Market Rasen (3m, good) last time out. Races off the same mark here and interesting if repeating that latest effort.
Finished third in a couple of small field contests since returning from a break. More needed if he's to register a first chase success in this.
Placed twice since winning over 3m at Musselburgh (soft) in January. Well held on heavy ground last time and better ground forecast here should see him in a better light.
Victorious over 3m at Musselburgh (good) in March and subsequently finished runner-up over 2m4f on good ground here just under a month ago. One for the shortlist off a 3lb higher mark.
Placed twice over fences last autumn and improved on his return when finishing fifth over an extended 2m4f at Southwell (good) last time out. Return to this trip in his favour but races from out of the handicap in this.
Forecasts
Mahler Lad (4/1), Dun Faw Good (9/2), Misfits (9/2), Tickenwolf (6/1), No Such Number (13/2), Imperial Prince (7/1), Talkonthestreet (10/1), Fly Rory Fly (16/1), Shaiyzar (28/1)
MAHLER LAD and Dun Faw Good filled the first two positions in a handicap chase at Musselburgh in February and they can do the same in this competitive contest. Preference is for the former who remains open to improvement and was a winner at Towcester last time. Of the remainder No Such Number ran well last time out and a repeat of that effort can see him finish third.
- Mahler Lad
- Dun Faw Good
- No Such Number
