Nine wins to his name in his native Italy when trained there he was below that form when making his GB debut at Ascot (1m, soft). Took a keen hold on that occasion and this run on his handicap debut will tell us much more.
Hat-trick scorer as a three-year-old and also ran a very sound race in the Britannia at Royal Ascot (finished 3rd). Below form on his comeback run at Newmarket (may have needed the run) and looks the sort to make a decent four-year-old.
Took the Britannia at Royal Ascot last year from the foot of the weights (suited by the big-field; strong pace). Failed to back that up in a Group 3 but that would have been a totally different scenario; now returns to handicaps off an absence.
Getting towards the veteran stage but proved on a few starts last year that he can still cut it at this level. Failed to come on for his first run of the year last time and cheekpieces now swapped for a visor; looks vulnerable despite 4lb lower mark.
His first two runs of the season have come in top handicaps; showed up well enough both times although there was a little doubt about his finishing effort. Caught too far back last time at Ascot (again in another big-field handicap); others stronger.
Twice a winner last season he was given a very strange ride at Newbury with his apprentice rider clearly choosing to race in the wrong part of the track. That was his first run for the yard and better expected with a fully-fledged rider on board.

Repercussion (7/4), Zwayyan (5/2), Seniority (3/1), Tricorn (7/2), Daira Prince (4/1), Custom Cut (8/1), Bless Him (8/1), Circus Couture (20/1)
Without doubt the feature on the card with most of the field having shown themselves capable at this level. Last year’s Britannia form is well represented with the winner Bless Him making his first start in handicaps since then, he’ll need a strongly run race to be seen at his best. The third from that race, Tricorn has already had a run which will have brought him on and he looks a danger. Both Daira Prince and Seniority are off the mark for the year and need to be respected especially the former who might still be ahead of the handicapper. ZWAYYAN is taken to land this though having run well when at a disadvantage last time and with Jim Crowley taking over in the saddle.
