Useful hurdler who won nicely in a novice event at Chepstow (1m2f, soft) last month. Switch to the all weather asks a different question under the penalty but is clearly talented and should go well again.

Gelded son of Casmento who fetched €24,000 as a yearling. Sixth and beaten a very long way on debut at Salisbury (1m2f, good to firm). Needs to step up on that to be involved.

Half-brother to Group 1 winner Rainbow View. Won nicely on debut at Wolverhampton (1m½f, AW) on debut in October. Couldn't follow up at Chelmsford (1m2f, AW) next time. Has plenty of scope for improvement and should be tough to beat.

Two similar efforts so far seven months apart. Shaped in need of the run a Windsor (1m2f, good) on latest of those two weeks ago and no surprise were he to do better here. Market guide will be useful.

Showcasing colt that cost 50,000 gns as a yearling. Related to several winners over a variety of trips and market is going to be useful in terms of chances today.

16/1
Zoffany colt, cost 130,000 gns as a yearling. Two starts at the back-end of last year both suggested a step up to this sort of trip may suit. Likely to be more to come in handicaps on the back of this.

So You Think colt that has run green on both starts to date so far. Step up in trip looks a good move but another that may benefit from a move in to handicaps on the back of this.

Galileo gelding who cost 100,000 gns as a yearling. Probably in need of the run on reappearance at Kempton (1m, AW) in March. Likely to improve for middle distances and interesting to see how he figures in the market. Player.

Mastercraftsman colt that cost 32,000 gns as a foal and rose to 50,000 gns as a yearling. Dam was a winner over 7f and market will be a good guide on debut. Likely type.

Dubawi colt out of a Grade 1 winner in Canada, held an entry for the Derby. Two average efforts so far and was well beaten at Chelmsford (1m2f, AW) last month. Should do better at some stage.

Piccolo gelding out of an Invincible Spirit mare. Not much to shout about in two efforts over 1m so far. Goes up in trip today but needs to strep forward.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: R Winston| T: H Morrison
25/1
Nathaniel colt who is a half-brother to a couple of winners over various trips. Eighth on debut at Windsor (1m2f, good) last month. Should come on for the experience.

Forecasts

Wissahickon (11/8), Coeur Blimey (7/2), Papal Count (5/1), Refrain (15/2), Institution (16/1), Gates Pass (16/1), Brancaster (20/1), Trinitas (25/1), Doctor Jazz (25/1), Low Profile (33/1), Knight Errant (100/1), Theydon Boxer (100/1)

Verdict

Cour Blimey is a talented hurdler and got off the mark on the flat in good style at Chepstow last time and is very much respected. First time starter Papal Count is of interest on paper but clear preference is for the John Gosden trained WISSAHICKON. He won well on debut and wasn't suited by the way the raced panned out at Chelmsford next time. He can take this on route to better things.
  1. Wissahickon
  2. Coeur Blimey
  3. Papal Count
