Had some useful form to his name back in 2016 but not seen out since the September of that year. From this yard, fitness unlikely to be an issue but more rain would be against him, and he may be best watched today.
Looked well for his seasonal debut at Newmarket and shaped a little better than the finishing position suggests. Winner over 1m here last year but stays this trip well and likely to come on for latest start. May not want much more rain, but chances.
Progressive, and despite a defeat at odds-on on latest start it was still another step forward. Previous York win has worked out well enough, and with more improvement likely, has to be a player here. Unproven under soft conditions.
Is somewhat inconsistent but knows how to win when things go right for him, and came good in a similar contest at Hamilton in May. Well beaten latest though, and soft ground would be against him, so bit to prove again now.
Victim of his pwn consistency, as the handicapper is reluctant to drop him after a series of good efforts over the last year, including when fifth in a competitive Newmarket handicap on his latest start. Should run his race again.
Often travels well but finds less than expected when push comes to shove, as was the case again last time when second over this C&D. Will at least handle some cut, so any more rain is fine, but needs to be finessed home, and that's not easy.
Progressive throughout latter half of last year, including a C&D win (on good to soft) last August (won easily). Chances here if fit after an absence, with likely ground conditions in his favour.
Forecasts
Mordin (5/4), Rainbow Rebel (5/1), Turnpike Trip (6/1), Breden (8/1), Brave Hero (8/1), Zzoro (9/1), Plutonian (12/1)
ZZORO is tricky to win with but there's not a lot of pace on here, and it's possible that they might try and make all rather than sit in behind. If that's the case, he could be hard to catch, especially as he won't mind any further rain. He's worth chancing. Turnpike Trip is another that will be hoping the heavens open, and looked most progressive last year. He can prove the main danger. Breden keeps running well and might take some place money home again.
