A winner in novice company at Huntingdon in October, didn't appear to relish testing ground over the winter. This month's Warwick run (2m, good) was a step in the right direction but does need the new visor to spark extra.

Just 1-13 so far, that win being on heavy at Taunton (2m½f) in March. Reasonable effort under penalty against novices at Kempton last time and couldn't rule out him making an impact on handicap debut.

Warwick third this month (2m, good) was a fine effort coming from the off the pace with the front two having raced prominently. Form franked by that pair both winning again since.

Hit the frame in two of his three starts in bumpers, but has not quite translated that promise to hurdles. Drops 4lb after handicap debut and cheekpieces tried, but remains opposable for now.

Successful handicap debut at Wetherby in spring 2017 and not disgraced in four runs since, though hasn't really looked like adding to the tally. Could snatch some place money.

Bumper winner, produced much the best of his hurdling efforts at Huntingdon this month when tackling a handicap for the first time (5L third of 13). Enters calculations off the same mark.

Fair maiden handicapper on the Flat, hasn't really looked like getting off the mark in four starts over timber. Hood added for handicap bow in this sphere, may improve.

Low-grade Flat handicap winner last summer, may have been set for best effort over timber at Perth last month until impeded by a falling rival and losing his way. 3lb lower, tongue tie added and worth a market check here.

Hasn't got his head in front since December 2014, returned from latest absence with sound run at Taunton (2m3f, good) in November when close fourth of 16. Off again since and this looks a bit tougher on paper.

Landed a bit of a gamble at Ffos Las over fences last spring but has mostly toiled in that sphere since. Significantly lower mark over hurdles doesn't disguise four poor efforts this year so far.

Age: 10|  Weight: 10-4| J: Charlie Hammond(7)| T: L Hurley| OR:  93| CD

C&D winner on heavy ground in December 2015, didn't run a bad race at Worcester (2m, good) this month behind thriving Oskar Denarius in third. Would have claims with a repeat in all likelihood.

Forecasts

Nelson's Touch (7/2), Leapaway (9/2), Red Hot Chilly (7/1), Way Out West (15/2), Suggestion (8/1), Canyon City (17/2), Catchin Time (9/1), Mick The Poser (16/1), Hattaab (16/1), Kingston (20/1), One Cool Boy (25/1)

Verdict

LEAPAWAY did about as well as could have been asked from off the pace last time at Warwick to get third with the front two having enjoyed the run of the race. The pair have both scored again since and, ridden more prominently, Philip Hobbs' charge should be a danger to all off the same mark now. Nelson's Touch should have claims switched to handicaps while Way Out West improved at Huntingdon on his handicap bow and enters the mix on foot of that. Catchin Time is the old boy of the line-up but will be right in the mix with a repeat of this month's Worcester effort.
  1. Leapaway
  2. Nelson's Touch
  3. Way Out West
