Desirable Court18
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-4| J: D A Jacob| T: A King
6/4
Irish point-to-point winner picked up for £80,000 by these connections, looked good in making winning start at Newton Abbot this month and every reason to suspect she'll go well under the penalty.
2
Horse silk
Cup Of Gold17
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: B I Case
50/1
Unable to make any impact so far in bumper/mares' maiden hurdle under Rules and looks a forlorn hope again this afternoon.
3
Horse silk
Never Go Short19
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: J J Burke| T: T R George
50/1
Poor in sole bumper run and quickly faded from three out in Exeter maiden hurdle (2m1f, good) this month on jumping bow. Not hard to bypass for now.
4
Horse silk
Queen's Magic38
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: T Scudamore| T: N P Mulholland| BF
11/4
Winner of a Plumpton bumper on rules debut and since run well in third at Cheltenham. Switches to hurdling and looks a likely sort.
5
Horse silk
Swatow18
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: Patrick Cowley(5)| T: Miss E C Lavelle| OR:  118
14/1
Finished runner-up first three starts over hurdles last spring but has gone backwards since, unseating after some poor jumping at Huntingdon last month and then leaving rider on the floor after antics at the start at Newton Abbot this month.
6
Horse silk
The Bay Birch38
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-12| J: Stan Sheppard(3)| T: M Sheppard| OR:  128| BF| D
15/8
Beneficial mare has scaled new heights over fences since joining this handler, winning three times already in 2018. Must now prove she can hold that form mark back over timber.

Forecasts

Desirable Court (6/4), The Bay Birch (15/8), Queen's Magic (11/4), Swatow (14/1), Cup Of Gold (50/1), Never Go Short (50/1)

Verdict

DESIRABLE COURT got off to a perfect start under rules at Newton Abbot and Alan King's mare should prove up to the challenge of carrying a penalty, with likely further improvement forthcoming. Queen's Magic is an interesting recruit to hurdling and may give her a race while The Bay Birch will be interesting if replicating her much-improved chase form over the smaller obstacles.
  1. Desirable Court
  2. Queen's Magic
  3. The Bay Birch
