3/1
Gained a first victory in three years at Exeter and a first on anything quicker than soft. Unproven beyond 2m5f and new mark asks a lot given the value of current form.

6/4
Course specialist who has not been unduly punished for his latest victory when his task was made easier by blundering rivals. Jockey has an impressive strike rate for the yard and expected to stay 3m2f as long as it does not get too soft.

9/4
Not easy to catch right these days but the champion jockey coaxed the best from him to land a gruelling marathon at Exeter last time. Remains on a workable mark given past exploits, but there is a suspicion this trip on a tight track won't work.

6/1
Progressive chaser who has won three times at Market Rasen. This looks stronger than his last race but he only does just enough to win and he is probably still ahead of the handicapper.

Forecasts

Antony (6/4), Spookydooky (9/4), Kings Lad (3/1), Bugsie Malone (10/3), Shady Glen (6/1)

Verdict

With stamina doubts for Kings Lad and worries about the suitability of the track for Spookydooky and Bugsie Malone, then this should concern Shady Glen and ANTHONY. The former has an excellent record at Market Rasen but he also won at another tight circuit, Stratford, so ought to adapt here. The selection represents a yard in good form and has a top rider on board who is 2-3 for them at the start of the day. He has not been harshly penalised for his latest success and looks the one to be on given his fine record here and with conditions to suit
  1. Antony
  2. Shady Glen
  3. Bugsie Malone
