Dual purpose performer who had been disappointing in two starts on the AW after returning from hurdling but was much better back on turf when not getting cover. Down significantly in class and looks a player in first time visor.
Likes this C&D and was a winner here last season in quick conditions on his third start. Racing off 3lb higher mark and apprentice on that occasion could also claim 4lb more. May need the run on reappearance but worth a check in the betting.
Sole win on turf came back in 2015 but is racing off a competitive mark after returning from hurdling. Down in grade and distance will both help and place possibilities.
Open to plenty of improvement after just three runs on turf and a good fourth in a competitive affair last start. Likes to lead and battled on gamely once headed. Has a progressive profile and quicker conditions may help.
Daughter of Nathaniel who looked to need her first run when a well backed favourite. Has plenty of potential off current 1lb mark particularly as she now steps up to a distance that will suit her pedigree.
Veteran who is capable on his day and on a decent mark at present but has struggled in three AW starts this season.
Formerly with Sir Mark Prescott but has improved out of all recognition for current stable winning three from five last year and moving up 20lb in the handicap. Won first up last season and there should be more to come this year for his shrewd yard.
Well held on first run back on Flat when not unfancied over two miles. On old form the drop in trip is a positive on ground in his favour but others may be more progressive.
Forecasts
Stanley (3/1), Mark Hopkins (3/1), Tarte Tropezienne (7/2), Monjeni (11/2), Keep In Line (8/1), Eddiemaurice (12/1), Jacob Cats (16/1), Gang Warfare (25/1)
An interesting staying contest where it will be good to see the return of MONJENI who holds an entry in next month's Northumberland Plate and was so progressive last year. He can improve again this season as can Tarte Tropezienne who has been crying out for this step up in distance and will be fitter for her first run back. Stanley is also moving in the right direction while in contrast Keep In Line gets a welcome drop in class. Mark Hopkins won this last year which the stable also took in 2015.
- Monjeni
- Tarte Tropezienne
- Stanley
