Maiden hurdler, unseated rider on chase bow at Wincanton in November. Off since and gets champion jockey in bid to aid learning curve now.

Maiden who has been placed three times over hurdles, pulled up at Huntingdon this month very early on, goes chasing now and should be capable of better than that effort but will need to improve on anything he's done so far.

Now 0-8 over fences having been pulled up last month at Huntingdon over 2m½f on good ground on second start for this trainer. Wasn't without market support there, but never looked like rewarding it.

Maiden hurdler, was likely booked for place money on chase debut at Bangor in similar conditions last month before falling at the second last obstacle. That was an improved effort.

Won a selling chase on soft ground over C&D last month in fine style and gone well enough in two handicaps at Worcester on good ground since. Likes to race forward and not ruled out back here.

Sole victory came in a bumper at Kilbeggan in 2014, become frustrating but back from 254-day absence having undergone wind surgery and ran encouraging race over 2m here last month. Chance if building on that.

Landed a gamble to make a winning debut in this sphere at Worcester (2m4f, good) a fortnight ago, wouldn't be any kind of certainty to arrive in the same mood, but respected no less.

Forecasts

Alf 'n' Dor (11/8), Broom Tip (4/1), Action Replay (5/1), Gone Platinum (6/1), Cropley (7/1), No Dice (12/1), Sartene's Son (14/1)

Verdict

Broom Tip was running a promising race on chase bow before coming a cropper at Bangor and will have his supporters here as a result while the chances are that Action Replay will have more to offer having unseated on chase bow and he gets Richard Johnson to assist on his return. Alf 'n' Dor cannot be discounted having won here recently but perhaps GONE PLATINUM will build on his return here last month. That was a first start after wind surgery and he wouldn't need a lot more to grab this.
  1. Gone Platinum
  2. Broom Tip
  3. Action Replay
