Excelebration colt who cost £23,000 as a yearling, and made a winning start over 5f here (soft) earlier this month beating Azor Ahai by 2L. Penalised, encounters faster ground and has an extra furlong to travel.

Dragon Pulse colt who cost £35,000 as a yearling, and was never stronger than at the finish when seeing off six rivals on debut at Doncaster earlier this month (5f good). Penalised and upped in trip.
War Command colt (6,000 gns yearling) who clearly drew plenty from his debut at Thirsk (third), and was a winner at the second time of asking at Doncaster last weekend (5f good to firm). Penalised in a stronger race, but trainer in fine form.
€40,000 yearling (by Equiano) who showed speed and shaped well on debut at Newbury last month (5f good to soft); merely weakening close home to finish just under 2L third to Dave Dexter. Progress likely and should stay on pedigree.

Kyllachy colt, cost 21,000 gns as a yearling and £55,000 as a breeze-up purchase. Dam a juvenile sprint winner and half-sister to eight winners. In deep against a trio of previous winners on debut, but impossible to discount.

Verdict

A modest turnout numerically, but potentially an above average contest with a trio of previous winners in the line-up. Mark Johnston took this contest in 2017 with Rufus King, and with his string in fine fettle, further progress is anticipated from Saturday's Doncaster winner Victory Command. The Richard Fahey trained Ninetythreetwenty already looks to be crying out for this stiff 6f trip, but the race that he won at Doncaster wasn't quite as strong as that plundered here by CELEBRITY DANCER, so the upped in trip Ryan trained runner gets the nod with rain in the forecast for Friday.
