Won off a 3lb lower mark at Down Patrick (2m7½f, good) in June. Disappointed after that but has been given an eight month break and handles these conditions well. Should go well if fit and ready.
Been switching between fences and hurdles of late and is still 5lb higher than his last winning mark. Two runs so far this year haven't yielded much and is vulnerable here once again.
Showed bits and pieces of form at the back end of last year including winning a weak maiden hurdle here. Not obviously well treated for his handicap debut over fences today but the ability is there and no surprise should he go well.
Gained a second win when landing a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse just over a year ago. Badly struggling on his most recent starts though over fences and hard to make a solid case for him despite switching to handicaps .
Not shown a great deal over fences including in a couple of handicaps of late when jumping errors slipped in. Mark is dropping slowly but needs much more to be involved here.
Been struggling with his mark fo late and drop back in trip didn't seem to suit at Tipperary (2m1f, soft) two weeks ago. Down another pound but needs to do more.
Ran well on first start after a break here (2m, good) last time. That should have blow away the cobwebs and the step back up in trip should suit. Leading player for top yard.
Was a decent bumper performer but things have not gone well over fences. Whilst you can make a solid case for him from a handicapping point of view, jumping errors have been a problem. Step up in trip should help and dangerous with a clear round.
Has won round here over further. Struggling off this sort of mark of last however and others make far more appeal for now.
Forecasts
Jack Slade (4/1), Bosco Di Alco (4/1), Fenlon's Hill (13/2), Showem Silver (13/2), Honest Robber (7/1), Persian Wind (8/1), Aspen Colorado (8/1), Blacklough (14/1), Cecil Corbett (14/1)
Cecil Corbett should go well on the back of a break for his top yard. Aspen Colorado is dangerously treated based on his bumper form and is likely to take advantage at some point. We will side with JACK SLADE who will appreciate going back up in trip and should be fitter for his recent run.
- Jack Slade
- Aspen Colorado
- Cecil Corbett
