No win in 11 starts, although the ability to win one is clearly there, and, as far as this contest goes, has run to a solid level last two starts. Trip and ground fine, not one for maximum faith but given another golden opportunity again.

Just had the one start and didn't show anywhere near enough when well beaten behind the useful Simply The Betts at Warwick earlier in the month. Needs more time and likely to find a couple of these a bit too hot for her at this stage.

Did little first two starts but then outran her 100/1 odds to be beaten just 10l in a Hexham novice hurdle last time. That was weak, but at least represented a step forward, and another one might see her give the front pair something to think about.

Showed ability in a couple of bumper starts and then ran well against a hot favourite in a similar race at Worcester last time, still looking green. Gets a bit of weight and will improve, so with yard flying, looks a major player here.

Forecasts

Lady Maleficent (10/11), Grania O'Malley (1/1), Mini Dreams (33/1), Lady Ingleby (50/1)

Verdict

Grania O'Malley has thrown away too many chances to be given the vote, and that leaves the way clear for LADY MALEFICIENT to score. She wouldn't need much more than a repeat of her recent Worcester effort to be good enough here. In fact, Mini Dreams might represent a bigger danger, as she looks to be getting the hang of racing now and better may yet be expected.
  1. Lady Maleficent
