Classy hurdler/chaser at best, needs a good pace to come off as he doesn't always find for pressure but trip and ground both fine here, and he ran as if on the way back to form at Market Rasen last time. Back over fences here, and not ruled out.

Looked a horse very much on the up through 2015/2016 but injuries have halted his career at times, and he comes back here off another 16 month absence. Trip and ground fine, and handicapper has given him a chance if fit. Watch market for a clue.

Won a Listed Mares chase at Cheltenham last year but hasn't got anywhere near that form on her last three starts, although ground a plausible excuse. Still to totally convince at this trip as well and on balance, others are preferred.

Was found a couple of weak contests to give him a couple of confidence boosters last year but jumping once again went to pieces at Ascot on final start. Plenty to prove now, not least ability to stay this trip. Not hard to look elsewhere.

Last couple of wins have come in small fields, beat the useful point-to-pointer Monsieur Gibraltar back in 2016 but not seen much on a racecourse since. Trip and ground fine, and it all depends on how fit he is after an absence.

Has his own ideas about the game, and often drops the lot mid-race, but can be hard to catch when allowed his own way on the front and is on a going day. Yard flying, and now falling back to a more realistic mark. Can't be discounted.

Good chasing sort that can travel well in his races, came good at Hexham last time out but handicapper has reacted quite harshly with a 9lb rise. Needs more now, but should continue to improve and has his conditions tonight.

Enjoys himself at this track, two wins and two placed efforts from last four starts here but the question mark is this trip, which he's not tackled before. Might find others stronger in the closing stages, and on that, others preferred.

Forecasts

Ballyboker Breeze (4/1), Plaisir D'Amour (4/1), Our Kaempfer (9/2), Maestro Royal (5/1), Work Du Breteau (7/1), Remind Me Later (7/1), Brian Boranha (10/1), Ulis De Vassy (12/1), Net Work Rouge (12/1)

Verdict

Not easy to solve, with a few having something to prove regarding their fitness or wellbeing at present. REMIND ME LATER looks the safest option after another solid effort last time out and he looks more likely to run his race than a few here. Brian Boranha has always looked the type to do well over fences and despite the handicapper having his say after his Hexham win, should be on the premises. Work Du Breteau would have a chance if he gets out of bed on the right side, and if his rider can keep Our Kaempfer sweet he could outclass them late. A tricky event.
