Enjoys quick ground and is best around this sort of a trip, still 5lb higher than last win but able pilot takes off a bit of weight. Warmed up for this with a spin on the Flat earlier in the month and should be involved.
Easy winner (in better grade than today's) at Doncaster in December, two lesser efforts since then temper confidence a bit but did shape a bit better last time out. Chance if handling this quicker ground.
Looked to have a decent future ahead of him but it's all rather gone wrong over the past 12 months and a couple of efforts over hurdles when last seen left plenty to be desired. Always capable of bouncing back but others preferred today.
Trip and likely quick ground both fine, had three chase starts to date with mixed results. Ability to win one of these is clearly there but he really needs to tidy his jumping technique up a bit. Chances if he can.
Into the veteran stage now, faces an easier task than a few he tackled last season but didn't seem to go with much relish. This trip looks short enough as well, and it's not hard to look elsewhere.
No win machine but came good at Chepstow in April (heavy ground). Poor effort latest when a mistake halted his chances but he was under pressure anyway. Needs to find more off new mark, and ground plenty lively enough for him too.
Scooted around Worcester a couple of times last year when making all the running, usually employs those tactics but he's found it harder to make them work lately. However, trip and ground ideal and back on a winning mark, so not dismissed.
Another that likes to race prominently in his races, occasionally finds a bit for pressure late to win but looks to be flying a bit high in this company and may be a few pounds too high in the handicap.
Found the winners circle at Plumpton on latest start, running on gamely to lead on the post, and the second has won since so the form is fine. However, 9lb rise looks plenty and has quicker ground to cope with here, so new questions to answer.
Won off a basement mark last August but not reproduced that form and has to race from 7lb out of the handicap here. May drop in again at some point but predicting when is tricky, and he's best passed over today.
Forecasts
Box Office (4/1), No Ceiling (5/1), Myroundorurs (5/1), Mercian King (7/1), Brother Bennett (7/1), Modeligo (15/2), Stealing Mix (10/1), Deise Vu (14/1), Theatre Mill (18/1), Accessallareas (66/1)
MERCIAN KING may be able to outclass these. He looked good when winning at Worcester last year and will get this run to suit, with Deise Vu and particularly Myroundorurs likely to blast away in front. The latter could be the danger if allowed too much rope, as he's back on a winning mark and this tight track will suit his style. Stealing Mix and No Ceiling are others to consider.
- Mercian King
- Myroundorurs
- Stealing Mix
