Useful stayer whose last win on turf came off a 1lb hgher mark. Hinted he might be running into form when keeping on into sixth in listed event last time and a bold show can certainly not be ruled out despite top weight.
Very progressive staying handicapper at end of 2015 and spring 2016 but has run only twice in two years , including three weeks ago when beaten out of sight at Ripon. Risky proposition until showing the ability is still there.
Only wins have come at 1m2f but wasn't beaten far in Ascot handicap last term over this trip. Kept on well at Epsom recently over 2f less so appears to have every chance with yard still firing in the winners.
Comfortable success last time over 2m at Kempton AW so no stamina issues. 4lb higher now but clearly in good heart and should be there or thereabouts if in similar mood.
Fine third in last season's Old Newton Cup at Haydock over 1m4f but ran two shockers after that. Has since left Sir Michael Stoute and makes debut for new yard. Dropped 2lb and wears first time tongue-tie so worth a market check.
Open to improvement stepping back up to this trip having run well on seasonal return when third at HQ over 1m4f. Trainer's fine spell continues and should be in the thick of the action.
Scored three times over this trip last term and appears best suited by a galloping track. Not disgraced when fifth on bad ground on seasonal return and should strip fitter. Better suited by this surface and is respected.
Forecasts
Shabeeb (11/4), Alqamar (11/4), Shraaoh (9/2), Soldier In Action (13/2), Amazing Red (7/1), Fire Jet (10/1), Moonrise Landing (25/1)
A good prize on offer here and a a potentially exciting race is in prospect. The mare FIRE JET is the choiceto spring a minor surprise having done really well last term over this trip and run with credit on unsuitable ground on her first start of this campaign. There are a host of dangers. Recent Kempton winner Amazing Red enters calculations along with the tough Soldier In Action, while Alqamar and Shabeeb are others to consider.
- Fire Jet
- Shabeeb
- Amazing Red
