5/1
Point-to-point winner and beat Kootenany River on rules debut at Exeter last time out, but weight conditions here may not make things easy even if he does progress.
2
Horse silk
14/1
Won three point-to-points and could develop into a useful rules performer, but has a big weight to carry on debut in this sphere.
3
Horse silk
40/1
Very patchy form in point-to-points and would likely need to be at his absolute best to even have a chance of placing in this company.

11/2
Took a few attempts to get off the mark in point-to-points, but did so impressively when he did (ridden by this jockey), and he should go fairly well on rules debut.
Took four runs in point-to-points to get his head in front, but then did so in style, winning by 60L. Interesting to see how he gets on for this rules debut.
Second in his only start in a point-to-point, and though that was still a solid run he seems a way below the level of some of these.
Winner of his only point-to-point, and though this shorter trip may not be ideal based on that evidence he clearly has ability and should run well on rules debut.
A winner of his only point-to-point, and big things clearly expected when narrowly beaten at 11/10 on rules debut last time out. Could well improve for that run on more favourable terms and go close here.
Failed to complete in three starts in point-to-points, finishing second in the other. Doesn't seem one to rely on and best watched on debut under rules.

Off the mark in point-to-points at the second time of asking, and could get this trip on pedigree, with a hood applied first time under rules.
Comfortable winner of her only point-to-point, and has some bumper winning form in her pedigree; interesting on this rules debut.

Horse silk
12/1
A winner of her only start in a point-to-point, but that wasn't as impressive as some of the others here, and this yard not the most obvious source of a first-time-out winner under rules.

Horse silk
50/1
Placed in the second of her two point-to-points, but that level of form still leaves her with plenty of improvement to find on rules debut. Wears a hood.
Point-to-point winner on her only start in that sphere, but her £1,800 price as a three-year-old and connections mean she doesn't rate the likeliest winner of this.

Forecasts

Kootenay River (5/2), Rob The Getaway (5/1), Billygwyn Too (5/1), Risky Gold (11/2), Equus Pandora (17/2), Strike Hollow (12/1), Matts Commission (14/1), Rapaport (14/1), Lily The Pink (20/1), Court In Matera (20/1), Rogue Diamond (20/1), Platinum Ben (40/1), Gypsy Charm (50/1), Behomebymidnight (66/1)

Verdict

A slightly unusual bumper in that all the contenders have come from the field of point-to-pointing and few have rules experience, but KOOTENAY RIVER made his bumper debut at Exeter in April, and can improve with the benefit of that experience here. He was sent off just 11/10 and was a smooth winner of his only point-to-point, so makes plenty of appeal here. The horse who beat him at Exeter Billygwyn Too carries a much bigger weight but should also go well, while Rogue Diamond is a rules newcomer who should go well.
  1. Kootenay River
  2. Billygwyn Too
  3. Rogue Diamond
