- 12 Runners
- Surface: Turf
Carlisle handicap chase winner over 3m2f on heavy ground last month and finished a close third over an extended 3m6f here ten days later. Drop in trip not certain to suit racing off a mark 11lb higher than for that Carlisle success.
Placed over fences at Down Royal (2m4f, heavy) in January but held in three subsequent starts including in a chase at Downpatrick on his penultimate outing.
Hunter chase winner on heavy ground at Kelso (3m2f) in March last year and placed in that sphere subsequently. Returning from nearly a year off and interesting on her return to handicaps.
Victorious at Newcastle (2m4f, heavy) last month and ran well off a 7lb higher mark when third over 3m at Hexham (soft) subsequently. One for the shortlist in this contest.
Ran well to finish 4L third over an extended 2m5f at Kelso (heavy) last time out. Better ground forecast here should suit and he has a leading jockey in the saddle on this occasion.
Maiden hurdle winner on good ground here in April 2016 but absent since finishing fifth in first time blinkers (replaced with cheekpieces for this) in a Musselburgh handicap chase in December of that year.
Placed on two of her last three starts including when runner-up at Hexham (3m, soft) last time out. Has won on the forecast good-to-soft ground in the past and is likely to run her race once more.
30 race maiden and held twice since returning from a break. More needed if he's to break his maiden racing from out of the handicap in this contest.
Disappointing since finishing runner-up at Uttoxeter (3m, good) last July. Probably best watched racing from out of the handicap on his first outing since pulling up at the same course last autumn.
Maiden after 22 starts and beaten 60L when finishing last of four at Ayr (3m, good) earlier this month. Wears cheekpieces for the first time and races from out of the handicap in this.
Yet to win in 31 starts and failed to build on a decent third at Newcastle when pulling up at Hexham last time out. Others make more appeal racing from out of the handicap.
Fair fourth at Musselburgh (2m4f, good) on second start for this yard and sent off a big price in a beginners contest last time. Racing from out of the handicap.
