French Listed winner (7f) who was having his first start for this trainer when finishing sixth of seven to James Garfield in the Group 3 Greenham Stakes at Newbury (7f g/s) last month. Sights lowered considerably, but conceding weight all round.
Kept on strongly when breaking the maiden tag at Redcar in August (6f good to soft), but wouldn't appear to be obviously well handicapped off a mark of 95. Outclassed by Purser and Symbolization on seasonal return.
A winner on his sole previous attempt over this trip (7f novice median auction at Chelmsford in November). Slowly away and produced a rather tame finishing effort on his recent seasonal reappearance at Newmarket last month (6f good).
His only defeat so far came on debut at Windsor in August (solely down to greeness), but has progressed quickly since winning three on the bounce, including in a small field three-runner 7f Wolverhampton handicap latest. Up 2lb, but improving.
Defied a 7lb penalty when snugly accounting for Magnificent in a 7f novice median auction at Kempton early last month, and is switched back to turf for the step into handicap company. Obvious short-list material; a winner on good ground previously.
Running well on AW this winter and not disgraced at Kempton last time (1m) when having to concede weight to some useful sorts. Probably needs a step forward off this mark in the first time tongue-tie.
Solid and consistent AW performer between 7f and 1m1f+, winning two of his four career starts at Lingfield (1m) and Chelmsford (7f). His latest success has been shown in a very positive light by Elysees Palace (fourth), but this is a tougher task.
Left Richard Hannon for 90,000 gns in November and has seen plenty of racing since (six starts), but with his form slowly tailing off lately. Lacked the required tactical speed in order to be involved over 5f at Sandown latest.
Cost €470,000 as a juvenile (breeze-ups), but didn't race competitively until later in the season. Back from wind surgery to win an egg and spoon 6f maiden at Chelmsford in March, but plenty on tonight upped in trip on handicap debut.
Has shown some fair juvenile form, and probably stronger than his 0 from 13 career record implies. Ran well enough at triple figure odds at Newbury last month (sixth), but shouldn't trouble the judge for win or place purposes in this event.
Forecasts
Society Power (9/4), Fennaan (9/4), George Of Hearts (7/2), Aquarium (10/1), Stormbringer (16/1), Cold Stare (16/1), Music Society (20/1), Jellmood (33/1), Uther Pendragon (50/1), Albishr (50/1)
Safe to say that each and every one of these horses will prove more than capable of winning (more) races when finding the right opportunities, but the trio to concentrate upon tonight are SOCIETY POWER, Fennaan and Aquarium. All three of these horses represent leading trainers who are commonly feared in these type of races, and rate as improving/unexposed sorts. The selection is probably unlucky not too boast a 100% record, but nevertheless has made a very striking impression so far and he cosily accounted for a progressive stablemate of Aquarium (Vale Of Kent) when winning on handicap debut at Wolverhampton last month.
- Society Power
- Aquarium
- Fennaan
