Four-times hurdles winner who showed ability in the first of two outings over fences. Returns to the bigger obstacles after a spell over hurdles, but has a few questions to answer.
No wins from 12 starts over fences, but was second at Bangor last time and shaped as though this longer trip would suit. Not out of it off the same mark.
Maiden over jumps, but did shape with plenty of promise on his chasing debut at Market Rasen in March. Should have learned plenty from that and is in the mix off 1lb higher.
Back-to-back point-to-point winner last month, but record under rules is disappointing and only start over fences at this track in December saw him beaten over 30L. Clearly in good heart at present, however, and could do much better.
Lightly-raced sort whose only run over fences saw him finish in mid-division at Stratford last month. Down 4lb. but needs to take a step forward.
Placed once in five attempts over fences and was pulled up at Southwell when last seen in December. Shaped respectably over C&D off 4lb higher in November, however, so not without hope.
Maiden after nine starts over hurdles, but is not without some talent and was placed four times. Market will be the best guide to her prospects on her chasing debut.
Tailed off in two novice hurdles and pulled up in two others. Impossible to make a case for as she embarks on a chasing career in first-time cheekpieces.
Stable companion of Jolly Jet with a not too dissimilar profile. Needs to take a big leap forward now he is fitted with cheekpieces.
Forecasts
Plantagenet (10/3), Go West Young Man (7/2), Kings Temptation (4/1), Midnight Gem (11/2), Miss Yeats (7/1), Whin Park (10/1), Canyouringmeback (16/1), Hab Sab (33/1), Jolly Jet (50/1)
Whin Park is an interesting runner following a couple of wins in point-to-points last month, but his record under rules is disappointing and he needs to put that right. Go West Young Man may do better over this longer trip, but the vote goes to KINGS TEMPTATION, who shaped well on his chasing debut and can be expected to improve for the experience. Midnight Gem may do best of the rest.
- Kings Temptation
- Go West Young Man
- Whin Park
