Connections paid €40,000 for him as a three-year-old. Raced in touch until weakened after halfway and fell 3 out on hurdles debut at Taunton in November. Represents powerful yard so certainly worth checking for any market interest.

Showed little in two starts for Kim Bailey and it's been more of the same in three outings for current yard. Looks modest and cannot be recommended.

Showed little in point to points and little more in two starts under Rules so far. Wears first-time cheekpieces, but on evidence to date looks outclassed.
Has shown a little promise in two bumpers so far on testing ground. May do better on this decent surface and shrewd yard respected although needs to step his game up to figure at the business end..

Finished two lengths behind Here's Bingo on bumper debut but ran poorly when tailed off on first start over hurdles at Towcester in March. Needs to take a big step forward now.

Has run some decent races without winning in novice and handicap company but found the company too hot in Grade 2 last time at Kempton. This is easier and should be there or thereabouts under champion jockey.

Pulled up in three of four stars to date and tailed off on only completed start. Despite wind surgery appears very moderate and is likely to be outclassed once again.

Made £60,000 after winnng point to point in May last year and has run creditably in bumpers and on hurdles debut last time. Step up in trip should help and may not be far away this time.

Forecasts

Rockpoint (2/5), Champ (10/11), Serosevsky (3/1), Barn Hill (8/1), Commodore Barry (12/1), Beyond Supremacy (14/1), Orchard Thieves (14/1), Buster Moon (14/1), Out Of Style (16/1), Just Midas (20/1), Here's Bingo (25/1), Scrupuleux (33/1), Ericas Lad (50/1), Menapian (200/1)

Verdict

CHAMP may prove hard to beat if reproducing his fine effort at Ascot on hurdles debut where he only narrowly lost out to a subsequent listed winner. Rockpoint should appreciate the drop in grade and looks the main danger, while both Barn Hill and Out of Style may be up to winning races. Any money for the long absent Orchard Thieves would be interesting as he cost connections a pretty penny.
