Makes his handicap debut having taken a step forward last time in a heavy ground 2m novice hurdle. Given a fairly easy time and wasn't knocked about at all; remains with potential.

A winner in novice company at Huntingdon he was well below form over hurdles last time in a slightly better race. Dropped away easily and comes here under a cloud.

Bandsman100
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-10| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR:  116
13/8
Has never been a fluent jumper even when winning novice hurdles and his jumping has been worse of late in handicaps. Of very little interest until he can iron out that fault in his game.
4

Innocent Touch19
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-9| J: Andrew Tinkler| T: H D Daly| OR:  115| D

Quite a useful type on the Flat for Richard Fahey he was also a winner over hurdles for him. Not raced over hurdles for some while when making his debut for this yard and looked to need the run; may be more to come( well handicapped on Flat form).

Useful sort on the Flat who won over hurdles in France and looked all set to go close when falling last time out in a Kempton novice. This will be his third run since a wind op and his handicap debut; one to watch in the betting.

Another Crickh60
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-8| J: Thomas Garner(3)| T: Noel Williams| OR:  114

Has one standout effort to his name over hurdles and looks to have been handed a stiff mark for handicaps. Dropped 3lb from his debut in this sphere but still looks to have plenty to do.

Leapaway42
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-6| J: T J O'Brien| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR:  112

Like one or two others in this looks to have been handed a stiff enough mark for handicaps. Eased 3lb from the initial mark with his stable back in form but still others are more favoured; failed to settle last time.

Wildmoor Boyt,v75
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-4| J: C Poste| T: R Dickin| OR:  110| C| DWS
16/1
Has shown some fair form in the past in handicap hurdles but looked amiss and bled the last time out in February coming back from a break. Given those circumstances best to err on the side of caution now.

New Kid In Town170
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-4| J: Ryan Winks(5)| T: P Winks| OR:  110| D
40/1
Not seen for a while and looked far from 100 percent when last seen on his first run for the stable since leaving Willie Mullins. Inconsistent sort and best watched on this occasion.
10
Horse silk
Vive Le Roi11
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-3| J: Lee Edwards| T: A W Carroll| OR:  109| D
20/1
Has left Charlie Longsdon and has a fair bit to prove after his two runs for his current yard failing to complete last time out (fell). Handicapper looks reluctant to drop him a few pounds and passed over here.

Captain Jack40
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-2| J: D A Jacob| T: R J Price| OR:  108
5/1
May well have run better than his final position indicates last time out over C&D when a shade too keen early on and that told in his finishing effort. Had shown some potential off this mark on handicap debut and better ground here may well suit.

Horse silk
11/1
In relatively good form when he was last seen although his decent run of form had just come to an end. However even when he runs well this mark looks a stiff one and his weak finish always mean he's one to be wary of for win purposes.

Horse silk
Lara Trot10
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-7| J: James Nixon(7)| T: R Dickin| OR:  99
50/1
Failed to back-up what looked to be a questionable effort on her penultimate start which had seen her awarded a rather stiff mark. The handicapper has quickly backed off that opening mark (down 5lb) but she remains an unappealing option.

Forecasts

Bandsman (13/8), Captain Jack (5/1), Innocent Touch (8/1), Canyon City (9/1), Alexander The Grey (11/1), Leapaway (14/1), Desiremoi D'Authie (14/1), Joycetick (16/1), Wildmoor Boy (16/1), Another Crick (20/1), Vive Le Roi (20/1), New Kid In Town (40/1), Lara Trot (50/1)

Verdict

CAPTAIN JACK looks to have some scope off his current mark and with the ground drying out he could be able to take a step forward here especially if he settles a little better early on. Innocent Touch is another who will enjoy the ground and he looks well handicapped on his Flat form and he should be noted in the betting along with Joycetick who looked a little unfortunate when falling last time. Desiremoi D’Authie has potential fort handicaps and he was certainly given an easy time once the principals had gone away from him at Sandown on his last run.

  3. Joycetick
