Improving chaser for Mark Walford and now races of a 7lb higher mark than his last win. Likely to be popular on stable debut.
Distance winner who disappointed last time out when under pressure before two out and fading to eventually finish 11th of 22 beaten 36L.
Two solid chase starts since the turn of the year were not backed up at Leopardstown in March when the gelding was not on a going day fading to be beaten 46L. Could appreciate the drop in trip.
Winner of a beginners' chase at Gowran Park in September but not progressed since, looks up against it on these terms.
Course winner that has also won over this distance though did disappoint on his last run at Punchestown over this trip two weeks ago. Worth a market check given yards record at this meeting.
Has failed to finish two of his last three starts with the heavy ground possibly the cause. A win and five place efforts on good ground puts him on the shortlist here.
Showed plenty of promise at the end of last year but has produced two below-par efforts since return last month. Looks up against it here.
Distance winner who won a Leopardstown handicap chase on St Stephens Day beating 17 rivals a head over 2m1f on yielding ground. Yard usually do well at this meeting.
Last win over the larger obstacles came in October 2015 over 2m1f at Cork but form has completely tailed off since and one to discount in this contest.
Kings Theatre gelding who has clearly had fitness issues over the last 18 months. Well beaten when last August before a 54L defeat behind Spiders Web at Leopardstown in December. Best watched back from another break.
Successful in a summer jumping campaign last year but form began to tail-off a little. Has gone well fresh in the past and one to note in the betting.
Forecasts
Our Dougal (5/1), Drumconnor Lad (6/1), Tout Est Permis (6/1), Astre De La Cour (6/1), Jack Slade (13/2), Tisamystery (8/1), Eight Till Late (8/1), Dromnea (8/1), Blacklough (10/1), Gentleman Duke (18/1), Draycott Place (20/1)
Astre De La Cour likes to get on with things from the front and could take the field along in the early stages here with possibly Jack Kennedy and TOUT EST PERMIS for company. Provided the pair do not run the finish out of one another the Mouse Morris-trained five-year-old can build on his return run in the Grade A Guinness handicap chase at the Punchestown festival last month to land the spoils here. Another Henry De Bromhead runner to consider is the St Stephens Day Leopardstown winner Tisamystery.
- Tout Est Permis
- Astre De La Cour
- Tisamystery
