Hood goes on for the first time after he disappointed last time out over a shorter trip. Has previously looked as though this trip had tested him and not hard to look past him in this and favour others.

Shaped like the best horse at the weights on his handicap debut (wore first-time cheekpieces) but was too inexperienced to take advantage. Two runs since haven't gone to plan (tongue-tie now removed); chance if repeating first handicap effort.

Course winner (2m5f) on her penultimate outing building on the promise of her previous start but 10lb rise and 3m1f trip looked all too much for her next time. Now returns from a layoff trying that trip again and others make more appeal.

Won easily on his second start for this yard at Lingfield (2m7f, heavy) showing plenty of improvement and winning more easily than the winning margin suggests. Still looked in good form last time but undone by the shorter trip.

Failed to show any improvement for the step into handicaps being disappointing twice and hard to make much a case for him here on what he's shown so far.

Overcame an unpromising position when winning here in February over a shorter trip resuming her previous progress. Not quite in the same form since but ran better than her final position last time; slight doubt about today's trip.

Very lightly-raced under Rules although she is a multiple point-to-point winner. However, she offered very little when last seen over hurdles an hard to fashion a case for her here.

Looked the sort who would improve for the move into handicaps but that failed to be the case at Fontwell last time. Jumping poorly he maintained a less than straightforward attitude and needs to settle better to be seen to any effect.

Losing run is starting to get rather worrying now and he was well below form when last seen producing a rather laboured effort (never going well). Stays well but others have stronger claims.

Has a useful staying pedigree and there is potential for further progress although she didn't really step forward on her handicap debut (mark of 86). That effort saw her finish behind Cosmic Diamond but this 3m trip should suit; note a market move.

Not an obvious contender over this trip having failed to really stay this trip last time. Basically summed up by his handicap mark and would make more appeal over a shorter distance.

Not seen for quite some time and having had just one run for Sarah Humphrey he's returned to his original yard. Form hardly has a solid look and passed over in this contest.

From a yard in cracking form yesterday he wouldn't have the most obvious chance on his Rules form so far. Has won a point-to-point when last seen and has also had a win op; betting will tell the story on yard debut.

Verdict

This is a fascinating staying hurdle with a couple that could well improve markedly here headed by SIMPLY LUCKY whose Rules form is nothing to write home about at all but a wind op and a move to a top class and in-form yard off a lowly mark could well turn that one around. Oi Oi is a similarly interesting rival who is still lightly-raced and has a pedigree that means she could well be better over this sort of trip. Point N Shoot is in good form and will be dangerous if allowed an easy lead with Pray For A Rainbow looking as though he’ll be suited by a return to this trip having won easily on his penultimate start. Sheelbewhatsheelbe is another to consider having shaped better than his final
