Improved from debut ot win at Kempton in September and shaped well on return here at the Craven Meeting when narrowly beaten. Gave the impression the step up to this trip will suit and could be ahead of his opening mark.
Course winner over 6f on second start and ran okay in a Group 2 without threatening for a place at the Curragh towards the end of last year. Very disappointing back here at the Craven Meeting though and second string on jockey bookings.
A winner on debut and has returned in good form this year winning his first two starts. Up in the handicap as a result though and struggled at Ripon latest. More needed here.
Gained a second win from 10 starts at Ripon last time out (had Book Of Dreams in Behind) and a 5lb rise for that effort certainly looks fair. More exposed than some though and may find a couple too good.
Won two of his first three starts but lost his way a little towards the back end of last season, though was highly tried. May do better this year and market should be informative.
Improved from his debut with two runner-up efforts, probably given a little too much to do at Nottingham last time. Form of that race has been done no harm since by both the winner and the third, and could be well in off this mark.
Improved from debut to win a Goodwood maiden but struggled when finishing last in Group company when last seen. Handicapper has given her a chance and yard won this last year so she can't be dismissed.
Forecasts
Sam Gold (13/8), Symbolization (7/4), Book of Dreams (8/1), Crownthorpe (10/1), Folk Tale (10/1), Curiosity (14/1), Roulette (33/1)
Charlie Appleby enjoyed a fine week here at the Craven Meeting and he may be able to build on that this weekend. SYMBOLIZATION looks like one of his better chances on the card and he should appreciate a first try at the mile here. Sam Gold is potentially well-handicapped and Roulette is unexposed and represents last year's winning stable.
