Signed off 2017 with a couple of wins and returned with a promising effort at Musselburgh in March. Has won a Listed race before but has largely struggled at pattern level and others preferred.
Has been running well on AW this winter. He's inconsistent on turf but he won a Listed race at Doncaster in September and ran well at this course earlier in his career. Interesting runner.
Rattled off a hat-trick last summer and not beaten far in a couple of starts in Listed company towards the end of last season. Best efforts have come on fast ground so won't want any rainfall but has gone well fresh before and not ruled out.
Two wins from 11 starts in his career to date but got within ¾L of a length of a winner who broke the 5f track record at Kempton last time. Trainer does well with his sprinters and interesting he's pitched into this grade.
Dual Group 3 winner but didn't managed to get his head in front last year and getting a little long in the tooth now. Tends to need his first run of the season.
Placed behind Alpha Delphini twice at the end of last season but tends to find pattern level a little beyond him. Having first start since a wind op and debuts for a new yard here. Market may be revealing.
Inconsistent performer who ended last season out of form. Official mark probably underestimates her a little but that's no use to her away from handicap company and she needed her first run of the campaign last year.
Highly progressive last year and only narrowed denied in her bid for back-to-back Listed wins. Ground versatile and likely to be more to come this year.
Only narrowly denied in the Group 1 Prix Morny last year and equally as effective over 5f. Very hard to beat if returning in that sort of form and getting weight from all his rivals. Likely to try and make all.
Forecasts
Havana Grey (6/4), Mabs Cross (9/2), Alpha Delphini (7/1), Encore d'Or (8/1), Ornate (8/1), Judicial (10/1), Jumira Bridge (12/1), Mirza (33/1), Equimou (40/1)
HAVANA GREY brings a different level of form in to the race than all of his rivals and he probably wouldn't even need to be quite at his best to win this on his seasonal return. Jumira Bridge is an interesting runner and is the preferred option from Robert Cowell's pair in the race while there may be more to come from Mabs Cross and Michael Dods excels with his young fillies.
- Havana Grey
- Mabs Cross
- Jumira Bridge
