Shamardal gelding, should be suited by this trip on debut based on pedigree. Promising start on debut when finishing third of 14 beaten 5L in a Limerick maiden over 1m on soft to heavy ground.
Mawatheeq colt out of a Cadeaux Genereux mare related to three winners on the Flat and dual bumper winner King Vince. Disappointed but backed when sixth of seven in a Naas bumper in January. Market possibly best guide here.
Cape Cross gelding changed hands for 42,000gns as a yearling. Modest late headway on debut when never a factor beaten 23L. Needs to improve significantly.
Intense Focus colt out of an Oasis Dream mare related to Astaire and Innocent Touch formerly with Richard Fahey. Could go well on debut in this company.
Has been hurdling since the turn of the year including chalking up a win in a Tramore maiden earlier this month. Without a win in five starts on the Flat and a tough ask here.
Justified favouritism when winning a bumper at Punchestown last year but has shown nothing in two Flat maidens at Dundalk and probably wants more of a stamina test than this.
Driven and no impression when detached at half way on racecourse debut at Dundalk on the AW last month. Unlikely to play a part in the finish.
Modest 82-rated hurdler who has been beaten a total of 148L in two maidens on the Flat recently and looks likely to struggle again.
Harbour Watch filly out of a Diktat mare related to dual winners Rayon Vert and Tis Marvellous. Looks a long-term prospect.
Bushranger filly out of a Zafonic mare related to Royal Ascot winner Outback Traveller. Market likely to reveal expectations.
Makfi filly, cost €20,000 as a yearling. Related to plenty of winners, perhaps most interestingly a half-sister to Group-placed Switcher. Not seen for a year following a promising run at Leopardstown last May.
Still a maiden after 13 starts but something like a career best at Cork last time. Chances if repeating that effort.
Forecasts
Agent Zigzag (5/2), Dream Focus (7/2), Maysonette (9/2), Aztec Eagle (7/1), Itsalonglongroad (8/1), Makamamia (8/1), Los Alamos (10/1), Duchess Ravenwaves (20/1), Drayton Cross (28/1), Game Of Dreams (40/1), Ted Bach (100/1), Somelife (100/1)
The returning Makamamia is sure to be of interest on return to the track but the promising recent debut of the John Oxx-trained AGENT ZIGZAG can land the spoils here building on his third of 14 last month. The Dermot Weld-trained Aztec Eagle - expected to improve on debut run - and Dream Focus making his debut for the Jim Bolger yard should be considered in a tricky closing contest.
- Agent Zigzag
- Aztec Eagle
- Dream Focus
