Desert Ace^p⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 9-7| J: D C Costello| T: P T Midgley| OR: 75| D

5/2

In good form last season, but did hit the crossbar on several occasions. Ran well off 1lb higher at Beverley last time and has solid claims in this company.

Form: 222-604

(6)

Edged Out³²⁰

Age: 8| Weight: 9-6| J: David Probert| T: C Mason| OR: 74| CD

9/1

Not seen since last June when winning a handicap at Salisbury. Has a long absence and a 3lb higher mark to overcome and her wins have come on better going.

Form: 538/731-

(4)

Seamster^t¹⁷⁴

Age: 11| Weight: 9-6| J: Laura Coughlan⁽⁷⁾| T: D Loughnane| OR: 74| D

15/2

Approaching the twilight of his career, but showed he remains competitive when winning at Nottingham in November. Has to cope with a 4lb higher mark and this first run of this year may be needed.

Form: 003017-

(1)

Satchville Flyer^p²⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 9-6| J: Fran Berry| T: P D Evans| OR: 74| BF| C| D

5/1

Consistent, if somewhat frustrating on the AW during the winter. Usually runs at around 1m on the AW and his turf handicap mark is high enough over this much shorter distance.

Form: 682292

(2)

Kinglami^p⁴

Age: 9| Weight: 9-3| J: Oisin Murphy| T: J G M O'Shea| OR: 71| CD

13/8

Has not won for a while, but ran a decent race when fifth of 11 at Windsor on Monday. Races off 2lb lower and is a C&D winner. Positive jockey booking.

Form: 536055

(5)

Quantum Dot^b¹³

Age: 7| Weight: 8-7| J: William Cox⁽⁵⁾| T: E De Giles| OR: 57| CD

12/1

Won over C&D last June and now finds himself off a 2lb lower mark following a couple of ordinary efforts. Probably prefers a sounder surface, but is undeniably well treated.

Form: 71336-0

Forecasts

Kinglami (13/8), Desert Ace (5/2), Satchville Flyer (5/1), Seamster (15/2), Edged Out (9/1), Quantum Dot (12/1)

Edged Out and Quantum Dot prefer better going, Satchville Flyer has plenty to prove over this shorter trip and Seamster may need the run so this is best left to top-weight DESERT ACE, who was a little frustrating last season, but can reap his reward for his consistency by winning this contest. Kinglami's jockey booking catches the eye and he can hit the frame.
