Shaped as though he would be far better for the run when beaten on the AW at Kempton 6f, 0-65) on his return (went off too hard). Has a low draw to cope with here but now slips into this grade for the first time; 11lb below his last winning mark.

C&D (only victory) winner who returns from his winter break having had some wind surgery. Took an age to find his form last year and finally a drop in the weights proved to be the catalyst for his win; 5lb higher than his winning mark.

Three times a C&D winner (twice off higher marks) but hasn't been able to take advantage of a lower AW mark of late running below-par in easier grade than this. Cheekpieces back on (blinkers used of late); return here needs to spark him up.

Not the sort you want to rely on (last win August 2016; off 65) but did show up well at Southwell recently having slipped in the weights. 2lb higher here although it will be more what mood that he's in that decides the outcome than his mark.

Veteran that has never won away from Ayr (8/56) and is 0/18 here. Has his quirks and may well find this trip too sharp (all wins at 6f plus) as he makes his return from a long absence; may well need this run and poorly drawn.

Appeared to benefit from gentle handling when finally scoring at Carlisle (5f, soft) last August off a 3lb lower mark. Ran with credit after that (placed on his two C&D runs) but disappointed on last start; returns now having had wind surgery.

Returns to his former yard having missed the whole of last year although he hardly showed any form when with David John Riches in 2016 (three runs). Stays further than this and likely to need this outing.

Consistent before she finally won last year ay Ayr off a lowly mark (46) looking as though all of the 6f was needed. Unable to repeat that form off higher marks afterwards twice looking as though 5f was too sharp for her; returns from an absence.

Finished third here three times from four runs but on a losing run that stretches back to June 2014 (won off 60 at Redcar, 5f). Ran his two best races here last year under today's rider off this mark; has run well on seasonal reappearance before.

Modest handicapper who is still a maiden who generally struggled to make an impact last season. Best run came over C&D though (first-time blinkers) and she is well drawn to adopt a front-running role.

Formerly with Iain Jardine he's shown very little for this yard after a two year plus absence. Looks summed up by his mark and runs from just out the handicap here. Can be slow away and others make far more appeal.

Second runner in this race for this yard who ran very poorly when last seen on the AW at Wolverhampton over 6f. Started as a 100/1 chance there; cheekpieces go back on but would be a surprise winner.

Forecasts

Vallarta (11/4), Twentysvnthlancers (4/1), Our Place In Loule (11/2), See Vermont (13/2), Dawoodi (11/1), Lady Molly (12/1), Cheeni (12/1), Red Forever (16/1), Raise A Billion (16/1), Goninodaethat (25/1), Griffin Street (33/1), Roman Times (80/1)

Verdict

Most of these can have a question mark put against them of some sort or another and care is advised. Twentysvnthlancers isn’t the most reliable but he has slipped in the weights and ran well enough last time out and if he was in the right mood he could well get involved in this. See Vermont comes from a stable that had a big-priced double earlier in the week but needs a return here to recapture his previous spark. Dawoodi has the ability to win something like this but his stable haven’t really got going yet and he may need his run. VALLARTA isn’t that well drawn but he drops into this grade for the first time having blown away the cobwebs on the AW last time.
