Keen going sort who ran well two starts back at Lingfield (7f, AW) before running no race at all at Kempton (7f, AW) last time. This drop in trip looks a good move on that evidence and the hood goes on for the first time in an effort to settle him.
Ran well for this rider on her second start here over C&D. Not so good last time on quicker ground but makes handicap debut here off a fair mark and riders claim is a help.
Likes to be prominent and ran well at Windsor (5f, heavy) when no match for an easy winner last time. Not handicapped out of things but best efforts over a bit further than this. Adam Kirby booked.
Beaten similar distances on all starts in 2018 suggesting that he needs some assistance from the handicapper. Dropped 4lbs for his latest effort at Lingfield (6f, AW) but better turf efforts have come on quicker ground and hard to enthuse.
Not much shown so far in four starts and beaten a very long way on handicap debut at Southwell (6f, AW) on final start in December. Had a break since and rider claims a handy 7lbs but best watched until showing something more.
Big prices on all three starts last term. Moves into handicaps off a lowly mark but will need to have improved to take a hand. Has shaped like further than this will be needed.
Best effort last year came here on handicap debut over 5f. Now 4lbs lower than that run but appeared to appreciate quicker round so wouldn't want any rain. Has had a long break and a wind operation since his last run.
Initial opening mark looked a tad harsh and her form really tailed off towards the back end of last season. Has dropped almost a stone in the weights as a result and despite break and a wind operation it would require a leap of faith to back her.
Finished last on all three of her starts last year, starting at big prices and beaten a long way each time. Starts life in handicaps off a basement mark but needs to improve a lot.
Forecasts
Grandma Tilly (7/2), Cent Flying (4/1), Give Em A Clump (9/2), Achianna (11/2), Duba Plains (6/1), Pranceabootthetoon (10/1), Spirit Of Ishy (14/1), Pas De Blanc (16/1), Mocead Cappall (40/1)
Several of these come here with questions to answer and solid efforts are thin on the ground. Duba Plains is interesting dropping back in trip with the hood going on, although he needs to learn to settle much better. Grandma Tilly is capable of making her presence felt on handicap debut but a chance is going to be taken that GIVE EM A CLUMP can deal with this trip. He ran well at Windsor last time on bad ground and with the assistance of Adam Kirby he could take this weak race.
- Give Em A Clump
- Grandma Tilly
- Duba Plains
