Has been running well on the AW of late and matching his win on his penultimate start with a runner-up slot last time. That was his first win for a while but he gets on well with this rider and has shown he handles this course in the past.
Looked as though he returned to some sort of form last time at Lingfield when taking 4th having run a little too freely. Finished 2nd on his only previous start here and now hooded again in an attempt to get him to settle.
Recorded back-to-back wins at the end of last season with the first of those wins coming over C&D off an 8lb lower mark but showed that she could cope with higher marks. Not been at her best before off a break so may need the run here.
Has eased his way back to this 0-65 grade having been rather in-and-out in higher grades last year. Ran with credit last time on the AW although his yard are a little quiet with cheekpieces being used for the first time.
Last win came back in the summer over 1me on quick ground at Salisbury and although she failed to score after that she did run with credit. Given a spin on the AW last time after six months off she looked in need of the outing; now steps up in trip.
Hard to ignore any runner from this in-form yard but she is still a maiden and although she has run some sound races of late the handicapper still looks to have a hold. May have done a little too much too soon last time out.
Went through a good spell at the end of last year on the AW although the last two of those runs came in selling/claiming company. Well held on her return also on the AW (finished last) and would need to show more here back on turf.
Three Flat runs spaced out over a couple of years have shown very little and he finished well beaten last time on the AW. Hopes now pinned on a first-time tongue-tie working the oracle.
Now off a career-low mark but with headgear back on after running well below-par last time on the AW. Hard to fashion a case for him even off this mark.
Rejuvenated for this yard he won his first two starts in AW handicaps off low marks having been supported on both occasions. Failed to complete the hat-trick (left poorly placed) at Chelmsford and now returns to turf off the same mark.
Previously with Brian Barr this is his first run for a new yard and although he has a couple of respectable efforts to his name he's not the most consistent. Joined a good yard and be interesting to see what they can do with him off this mark.
Forecasts
Mulsanne Chase (5/2), Sussex Girl (9/2), Archimento (5/1), Iconic Belle (8/1), It's How We Roll (9/1), Ashazuri (10/1), Zephyros (12/1), Stringybark Creek (14/1), Officer Drivel (20/1), Junoesque (20/1), Austin Friars (40/1)
Stringybark Creek will be hoping for a better run through the race than he got last time and there still looks to be some life in him off this mark if he does. Sussex Girl has shown she can handle this course in the past but might just need the run while it’s hard to ignore and Mick Channon runner at the moment given the form of the yard although Iconic Belle has yet to win a race. ZEPHYROS has struck up a good relationship with today’s rider Poppy Bridgewater and he looks to have a good chance in this off top weight. Officer Drivel and Mulsanne Chase are two others to throw into the mix with the former needing to settle better and the latter looking to improve for a stable upgrade.
- Zephyros
- Stringybark Creek
- Sussex Girl
