Looks moderate over hurdles and fences on what we've seen so far and would be much better off with a few of these if this was a handicap. Hard task and not hard to look elsewhere for the winner.
Useful if hard to win with, almost came good in his first handicap chase at Naas in February (beaten a neck) and might have been biting off more than he could chew at Navan last time. This is easier and with conditions fine, has place chances.
Has put in a couple of reasonable efforts over fences to date, and should improve, but looks a bit one paced an in need of a step up in trip. Place chances here, but possibly one to watch once going over further.
Classy hurdler at his peak but his efforts over fences to date have been disappointing, with mistakes littering them. Needs to jump better before he can be considered a likely winner over the bigger obstacles.
Class act of this field, half brother to useful chaser Port Melon, so likely to improve again for fences. Listed winner over hurdles, and biggest question is the trip, which looks on the short side. Nevertheless, the one to beat if jumping fluently.
Lightly raced for his age, back to form when a winner over hurdles at Down Royal latest but late in the day to be trying fences and he's likely to find a few of these a bit too classy.
Useful handicap hurdler, first start for new yard today who throw him straight over fences (half-brother to a 2m chase winner). Bit to find on form but conditions ideal, so if error-free on debut here, holds place chances at worst.
Has a point-to-point win to his name but that was on better ground, and was back in 2016. Not seen for well over a year and no form under Rules to speak of. Others readily preferred.
Shown very little over hurdles and on the Flat, unseated when well beaten on recent chase debut and needs to do a lot better here. Can't be looked at as likely winner.
Well beaten most starts to date, both bumpers and two hurdles races. Needs the switch to fences to have a dramatic effect. No realistic chance here.
Forecasts
Robin Des Foret (1/2), Last Encounter (4/1), Mighty Stowaway (7/1), Oathkeeper (10/1), Sanibel Island (12/1), Rossmore's Pride (33/1), Doctor P's Getaway (40/1), Whatdoes Jack Say (66/1), West Of Milan (66/1), Shramore Lady (66/1)
Probably just a handful to concentrate on, and despite this trip looking on the short side ROBIN DES FORET has the class to carry it off, and should be the one to beat if jumping well on chase debut today. Expect him to go on to better things. Mighty Stowaway should continue to progress over hurdles and looks the main danger, with Sanibel Island the one to make the most appeal for the minor honours.
