Grade 2 chase winner over an extended 2m5f at Taunton (soft) in December. Well held in a Grade 1 at Ascot subsequently but interesting despite having to concede weight to all of his rivals in this.
Completed a five-timer when winning a novice chase at Newton Abbot (2m5f, good) last August. Raced just twice since then and more needed on his first outing since October.
Grade 3 winner at Punchestown (3m1f, good) for Henry De Bromhead in October 2016. Making his debut for this stable on his first outing since finishing 12th in the Galway Plate last August.
Pulled up in this race last year but has run well in handicap company the last twice including when beaten 9L at Kempton (3m, good) in a Grade 3 contest at the end of February. Likely to fare better this time around.
Showed some good form in the autumn including when 8L second to Top Notch at Ascot (2m5f, good-to-soft) in November. Subsequently finished 1L second to Might Bite at Kempton (3m, soft) but disappointed at Aintree recently on his return from a break.
Held in handicap company since finishing third at Newbury (2m4f, good-to-soft) in December. Pulled up over the Grand National fences on his most recent outing and more needed if he's to take this.
Forecasts
Top Notch (4/5), Double Shuffle (9/2), Art Mauresque (6/1), O O Seven (6/1), Alcala (16/1), Sadler's Risk (33/1)
TOP NOTCH can put a disappointing effort last time out behind him by recording his third victory of the season in this six runner Grade 2 contest. The forecast underfoot conditions should suit Nicky Henderson's charge and he is taken to get the better of Double Shuffle who showed good form in the spring while Art Mauresque can finish third dropping in trip.
