Rarely spotted in competitive action since late 2016 and is advancing quickly in terms of age as a result. Races from a mark 5lb lower than when a ¾L runner up to Nautical Nitwit at Sedgefield in August 2016 (2m4f good).
Godolphin cast-off who remains a hurdles maiden (14 starts) despite some pleasing placed efforts in novice company (twice over C&D). Off since November and falling in the weights, with options at Cartmel likely beckoning soon.
Left her previous form in a different parish when taking this contest by 2½L in 2017 (33/1). Hasn't won since, but more consistent in the main and beaten just a neck on her last start on Boxing Day (now 6lb higher).
Now 0 from 5 over hurdles and unable to convert what seemed to be a good opportunity at Hereford earlier this month (2m juvenile maiden). Dropped 4lb for just his second start in a handicap.
2m4f course maiden hurdle winner for Stuart Crawford back in July 2014, but we've not seen much of him since for Rebecca Menzies/Anthea Morshead. Stable debut from a fair mark, which is 15lb lower than for his last hurdles start.
Improved performer over the past couple of months, and that has coincided with more regular racing (seemingly fitter). Placed twice from similar marks since downing the odds-on Cornerstone Lad on unfavourable terms at Hexham in March (2m heavy).
Placed in a weak C&D novices' hurdle in September 2017 (good to soft), but generally moderate since and falling quickly in the weights. Not totally exposed after just eight rules starts, but ideally needs an upturn in fortunes.
Showed some ability in Irish point-to-points, but has found novice/maiden hurdles beyond his capabilities. Off since January and makes his handicap debut from a lowly mark. Could do better with more time once switched to fences/upped in trip.
Now a 13-race maiden and generally poor since returning from a lengthy break in January 2017. Obviously tricky to train, but a whopping 21lb lower than when placed at Wetherby in May 2015 (2m good).
Not the most consistent, but the clear pick of the Lucinda Russell trained trio based on last month's 7L second to Morning With Ivan (2m Musselburgh, good to soft). Placed on his sole previous visit to this track in 2015.
Failed to complete in three of his seven starts under rules, including when falling at Carlisle latest (2m1f). Evidently of limited ability, so needs the application of cheek-pieces to bring about a degree of improvement.
A 23-race maiden who has suggested that he can break his duck at some point; running well to get within 5L of the ill-fated Skywards Reward at Wetherby in February (2m heavy). More modest latest when well beaten by today's rival Main Fact.

Forecasts
The Compeller (5/1), Bahrikate (5/1), Pc Dixon (6/1), Mick The Poser (6/1), Main Fact (7/1), Peters Grey (7/1), Christmas In Usa (8/1), Hey Listen (11/1), Moores Novelty (14/1), Golden Town (16/1), Titus Bolt (16/1), The Banastoir (25/1), Read'em And Weep (25/1), Stags Leap (33/1)
Competitive numerically, but plenty of these horses are on a steady downward march in the handicap. Some such as Titus Bolt could be considered as a result, but others such as Stags Leap and Read'em And Weep make little appeal. Pc Dixon has been kept busy by Victor Thompson, but headed the other way up the weights, he'll find winning harder, as will both Main Fact and 2017 scorer Bahrikate. In a race which makes little appeal for punting, we'll row in with the arguably disappointing (so far) MICK THE POSER, who makes just his second start in a handicap for Jennie Candlish.
- Mick The Poser
- Bahrikate
- Titus Bolt
