Not entirely straightforward earlier in his career, but has really taken to fencing (4 from 6), with his latest victory being a game one at Musselburgh in early January (2m good to soft). Further rainfall perhaps not ideal.

C&D novice chase winner in June 2017 (good), and has added to that with further victories at Stratford and Worcester. Generally sharpest on decent racing ground, so wouldn't be wanting to see any further rainfall.

Ran well following wind surgery when a 1¼L runner up to Marracudja at Musselburgh in early February (2m soft) and has kicked about unsuccessfully in stronger races since. 0 from 2 at Perth, but forecast ground conditions/race seemingly ideal.

Verdict

The forecast ground conditions are unlikely to be ideal for Vosne Romanee, and potentially to a lesser degree might also hamper the prospects of the likely favourite Mixboy. The Keith Dalgleish trained eight-year-old has progressed quickly for the switch to fences (4 from 6), but with that stable seemingly under a slight cloud performance wise since the 'Beast from the East' arrived, we'll opt to take a chance on BABY KING. A recent wind operation seems to have suited the Tom George trained gelding and with a slight drop in grade to help, he's fancied to bring up a quickfire double for both trainer and jockey.
  1. Baby King
  2. Mixboy
  3. Vosne Romanee
