Last win came on heavy ground over a mile at Chester last September and ended the season in good form with a second at Windsor. Hard to be enthusiastic about his comeback effort in the Spring Mile and more needed off this mark.
Not seen since winning for the first time last July on his third start that win showing gradual progression. Now makes his handicap debut for a yard that do well here and looks likely to have further improvement in him.
Hard to be too critical about his run on Fibresand last time and generally runs well around here being a five -time course winner. This trip looks more suitable than 1m4f he was tried over last time and he's slipped back below his last winning mark.
Given that he's now four and has only had the same number of races he can't have been easy to train. Now makes his debut for this yard having previously been with John Quinn; be interesting to see what they can do with him.
C&D winner who appeared to go off the rails a little in the second part of last year. Does have a good record here though and he's slipped down towards an interesting mark for a new yard that do well with this sort.
Course winner in the past his AW form of late has looked rather modest but he did show a little more spark last time out and this trip will suit far better. Still needs to build on that but not totally out of this off a decent mark.
Had shown some promise in the past for a former yard but hasn't been able to find anything approaching that level for his current yard. May well need the ground to dry out further and an ease in the weights to be of interest.
Forecasts
Trading Point (5/2), Dark Devil (3/1), Aclimatise (7/2), Zeshov (8/1), Palmerston (17/2), Ascot Week (11/1), Jacbequick (12/1)
There must be a slight concern over the absence of ACLIMATISE but he’s one of the few in this that have some real potential off this mark and the chance is worth taking. Jacbequick usually runs well around here and this trip will be more suitable than the 1m4f he ran over last time. Two horses running for new yards in Palmerston and Trading Point are worth noting in the market while Zezhov isn’t totally out of this having now slipped to a decent mark.
- Aclimatise
- Palmerston
- Jacbequick
