Chase debut today, bred to do better over fences than hurdles (plenty of chase winners on dam's side) and has been handicapped on three efforts over hurdles. Has shown ability and if fit after a break, could be interesting.

Point-to-point winner last October and another handicapped on hurdles efforts, which have been mixed. Yard not getting many winners this year though, which is a small worry, but chances all the same.

Probably did as well as he could against the improving Lickpenny Larry latest but found little for pressure, as has been the case previously. This trip an unknown as well and although ground likely to be ideal, others are preferred.

Pulled up on debut for the yard at Hereford last time but shaped better than bare result and this likely quicker ground a plus. Chase debut here (winning chasers in family) and of some interest if the money came.

Easy winner at Southwell over hurdles last March but hasn't repeated that effort since, and has been very disappointing lately. Hard to make a solid case for on her chase debut here.

Built for fences but really needs to jump better than he did on his chase debut at Plumpton recently, where a series of errors put paid to his chance. Better ground here should help but clearly a risky proposition at present.

Point-to-point winner back in 2016, lightly raced since then but showed signs of ability at Southwell two starts ago and this longer trip will help. Yard starting to go through the gears and may yet improve further.

Point-to-point winner in February but it was only a modest contest and this yard haven't had a Rules winner for over three years. On that, others readily preferred.

Age: 8|  Weight: 10-0| J: Bryony Frost(3)| T: J D Frost| OR:  72

Has shown bits and pieces of form over hurdles but in truth hasn't looked like wining one, and the switch to fences will need to have a big effect.

16/1
Modest point-to-point form and hasn't shown much in three hurdles starts. Races from a long way out of the handicap here and can't really be considered.

Forecasts

Zamparelli (3/1), Crafty Roberto (7/2), Phoebus Lescribaa (4/1), Not A Role Model (11/2), Canyouringmeback (9/1), Badilou (10/1), Amalfi Doug (14/1), Ballina Lady (16/1), Overawed (16/1), Gilly Grace (16/1), Quinnsborotemptres (50/1)

Verdict

A few of these are interesting making their chase debuts and none more so than NOT A ROLE MODEL, who could easily leave his previous form behind now he tackles fences. His trainer has made a decent start in his first full season and this one could add to the tally. Phoebus Lescribaa and Zamparelli both fall into a similar bracket, with both likely to do better, especially now the ground is quickening up a bit. Badilou could do with a clear round as the ability is clearly there to win a contest such as this, but jumping errors have held him back a bit.
  1. Not A Role Model
  2. Zamparelli
  3. Badilou
