Some respectable efforts in better company than today's this season and will appreciate the easier task. Drying ground a help too and the only major worry is the form of the yard, which is well below par at present.

Winner at Wincanton in December but two much lesser efforts since then, pulling up on both occasions. Hard to find reasons why he should bounce back today and still looks plenty high enough in the handicap.

Not seen much in recent times, useful over hurdles a couple of seasons ago but hasn't yet translated that ability to fences. Can be very keen in his races too and although with top yard, you'd want to see some market support before getting involved.

Looked like he retained plenty of his old ability when third in a good handicap at Ascot last October but it's all gone wrong since then, finishing well tailed off again last time. Hopes pinned on a return to better ground.

Forecasts

Antony (6/4), Rock On Oscar (13/8), Theo's Charm (9/4), Junction Fourteen (7/2), Solstice Son (7/1), Bishops Court (10/1)

Verdict

A real dice roll of a handicap with all six having something to prove. A chance is taken that the return to better ground will suit SOLSTICE SON who would hold every chance if repeating his Uttoxeter run last year. There's perhaps been excuses for his efforts since and in a wide open contest, gets the vote. Antony is another that will enjoy conditions drying out and he rates the danger. Theo's Charm needs to jump better on his return to fences but isn't out of it if doing so.

  2. Antony
