Horse A-Z
Cost £30,000 at Cheltenham in November 2017, but made a winning rules debut at Catterick in February (2m good to soft) when justifying favouritism to down Twotwothree by 3L. Possibly not the strongest winning form and penalised, but much respected.

Cost £30,000 at Cheltenham in December 2017 and makes his rules debut for a trainer enjoying her best ever jumps campaign. Runner up in his second point-to-point start at Mainstown (3m) immediately prior to those sales.
Half-brother to a couple of winners including 2m6f hurdle scorer Thatshowhedidit. Made a respectable debut at Ludlow in December (seventh), and given time off to strengthen since in order to tackle this longer trip.

Won three point-to-points since the turn of the year for this trainers wife, and now tries rules racing for the first time (entered at Hexham last week). Half-brother to three bumper winners, so the market promises to be massively helpful.
Unraced eighth foal by Josr Algarhoud out of a 5f juvenile winner (Animal Cracker). Half-sister to a number of Flat winners, although one of those did manage to win a 2m hurdle (Vandenburghe).

Picked up cheaply for just £2,600 as a four-year-old, and is a half-sister to bumper winner Jenny's Gold. Finished third on debut at Market Rasen in August 2017 (good), but that form has taken a few knocks since.
Back from a three month break with a pleasing effort over C&D in late March when beaten 1½L by Derriana Spirit. Capable of further improvement despite playing clear second fiddle to that winner, with this stable always respected in bumpers.

Black Sam Bellamy mare who cost £7,500 as a three-year-old and wears the hood on just her second racecourse appearance. Well beaten (100/1) on debut at Wetherby 14 months ago.

Forecasts

Lily's Gem (5/6), Let's Get At It (10/3), Pieceoftheaction (13/2), The Some Dance Kid (7/1), Geordielandgangsta (10/1), Dizzy Chief (40/1), Baymore Road (66/1), Samba Time (80/1)

Verdict

Stuart Crawford saddles recent C&D runner up LILY'S GEM, with Brian Hughes booked to take the ride. The County Antrim based handler is 5 from 13 (38%) with his Carlisle jumps runners this season and 4 from 12 (33%) overall across Great Britain in bumpers, so these type of statistics are most helpful in assessing prospects of further success. Although no match for Derriana Spirit on that occasion she receives plenty of weight from all of her rivals this afternoon including the Catterick debut winner The Some Dance Kid and the triple point-to-point scorer Pieceoftheaction. Without knowledge of any market moves, she's the token selection in the concluding bumper.
  1. Lily's Gem
  2. The Some Dance Kid
  3. Geordielandgangsta
