Formerly with Brian Ellison on the Flat and a modest 45-rated handicapper for James Coyle. Best watched on hurdling and stable debut.
Third of six on seasonal and stable debut but found himself 106L adrift of the winner Just Don't Ask. More expected from Grand National winning yard.
Malinas gelding out of a Astarabad mare related to ex-top French hurdler Questarabad, Whisper and recent Plumpton winner Traffic Fluide. Well beaten on debut at Thurles last month and worth waiting for a second opinion.
Yeats gelding out of a Great Palm mare related to Holly Bush Henry, Thomas Campbell and recent Aintree runner up Eaton Hill. Well beaten and never a factor on debut in February in a Naas maiden hurdle.
Marienbard gelding out of a Kings Ride mare. Sire not prolific with his national hunt progeny and looks a long-term prospect.
Modest in three bumper appearances and not a lot to shout about in two maiden hurdles at Naas and Downpatrick in the last couple of months. Unlikely to play a part in the finish.
Well beaten and no impression on handicap hurdle debut earlier in the month following a number of drab maiden hurdle appearances last year. First-time tongue-tie unlikely to bring about required improvement here.
Struggled in two disappointing bumper appearances at Thurles and Limerick beaten 36L last time out in December. Will need to improve to figure on hurdle debut.
Beaten 93L on his only hurdle start three runs ago. Nothing to show in two bumper performances since and another 61L defeat when last seen over hurdles in December.
Fruits Of Love gelding out of a Creative Plan mare related to Simply Ned and Double W's but unlikely to trouble the judge on debut.
Brian Boru gelding out of a Buckskin mare related to multiple winners Fox Appeal, Sub Lieutenant and recent Exeter victor The Kings Writ. Well beaten on debut finishing 75L behind the winner in a Naas maiden hurdle in February.
Finished behind last hurdle faller at Aintree Scheu Time on Irish debut in a Thurles maiden hurdle last month. Improvement very much expected in this company.
Daughter of Stowaway out of an Oscar mare related to Rock On Ruby, Champagne Fever and recent Market Rasen winner The Bottom Bar. From powerful stable and worth a market check on debut.
Career best effort when finishing 21L sixth in a 2m maiden hurdle at Wexford (heavy) last timeout. Likely needs to improve on that to play a role here.
Forecasts
Winter Soldier (9/4), Port Rashid (11/4), Biddy Be (5/1), Smithscorner (8/1), Play The Dane (11/1), Bothar Dubh (12/1), Mangan Julia (16/1), Kanturk Bard (25/1), Chip Shot (25/1), Hurricane Volta (33/1), Tias (33/1), Sherryorport (40/1), Warrior Assassin (100/1), Art World (100/1)
WINTER SOLDIER was not backed to win on debut when gaining plenty of experience in a Thurles maiden hurdle last month but could possibly make all under Paul Townend here for trainer-Willie Mullins. The Gordon Elliott-trained Hurricane Volta can be expected to improve on his second start for the stable, while newcomer Biddy Be can hit the frame on debut and could be one to note in the future.
- Winter Soldier
- Hurricane Volta
- Biddy Be
