Finished runner-up on three consecutive occasions prior to wind surgery earlier this year. Held on his first outing since but likely to perform better today.
winning for the fourth time over hurdles when victorious over 2m4f on heavy here last time out. Hasn't always convinced over further and tackling this trip for the first time today.
Point-to-point winner in March 2016 and placed twice over hurdles since returning from nearly two years off the track. Beaten a neck at Chepstow (soft) last time and one to note stepping up in trip on handicap debut.
Bidding to complete a hat-trick following wins at Towcester (soft) and at Plumpton (3m1f, heavy) last time out. Races off a mark 5lb higher than for her latest victory and is one for the shortlist once more.
Maiden hurdle winner on good-to-soft ground in March 2016 but absent since finishing third over fences at Worcester later that year. Worth a check in the market on his return to action.
Dual winner over fences for Jonjo O'Neill in late 2017 but fell at the first when making his debut for this stable at Doncaster in February. Reverts to hurdles off a mark 4lb higher than for his latest chase success.
Fair fourth over an extended 2m5f at Wincanton (good) on final start for Luke Dace in the autumn. Ran well over just short of this trip at Ascot on stable debut and interesting to see how he fares here.
Winner over 2m6f on soft ground here in March last year. Best effort since since came when finishing runner-up over 2m4f here on his penultimate outing. Cheekpieces worn when fifth last time are retained for this.
Off the mark at the eighth attempt over hurdles when winning by a head over an extended 3m1f at Hereford (soft) at the end of last month. Racing from out of the handicap in this event.
Sole success came over 3m2f at Warwick (good-to-soft) in February. Beaten a head by Royal Claret at Hereford last time and racing from out of the handicap here.
Forecasts
Royal Claret (4/1), Laugharne (9/2), Tambura (5/1), Solomn Grundy (6/1), Never Equalled (6/1), Garran City (10/1), Kerisper (10/1), Tudors Treasure (12/1), Powerful Symbol (14/1), Sahara Haze (16/1)
Handicap debutant GARRAN CITY can register his first success since joining the David Pipe stable by taking this handicap hurdle. The selection should appreciate this step up in trip having won a point-to-point a couple of years ago and it can fall to the hat-trick seeking Tambura to chase him home with underfoot conditions in her favour on this occasion. Solomn Grundy has to concede weight to all of his rivals in this but he can put a disappointing effort last time out behind him by claiming third.
- Garran City
- Tambura
- Solomn Grundy
