Making his first appearance since having wind surgery when running well prior to falling two out at Musselburgh (soft) last time. Cheekpieces worn on that occasion are retained here.
Made the frame on all three starts since joining this yard including in military riders races the last twice. Useful amateur on board here and likely to run well once more.
Just touched off at Exeter (2m7f, soft) on his penultimate start but well held at Market Rasen subsequently and needs to return to form on his return to fences.
Three time winner so far including over an extended 2m7f here last month. Towcester effort a week later possibly came too quickly and interesting to see how he fares on this occasion.
Finished third in a military riders contest at Sandown (3m, soft) on his first start of 2018 last time out. One to note for a stable in great form (9/22) in recent times.
Placed twice over fences earlier this year including over 3m5f at Lingfield (heavy) in February. Has had wind surgery since finishing sixth over the same trip at Warwick the following month.
Failed to complete the last twice including when brought down over C&D on heavy ground in January. Returning from a break in this.
Handicap mark is falling following some moderate efforts this season. Well handicapped on his old form and has had wind surgery since his latest outing. Yard can boast a 41% strike-rate (9/22) of late.
Dual winner under rules and ran well to finish 5L third over 3m2f at Fontwell (soft) last time out. Receives weight from all of his rivals in this.
Forecasts
The Boss's Dream (4/1), Waldorf Salad (9/2), Midnight Monty (9/2), Zanstra (6/1), Looks Like Power (13/2), Renard (8/1), Allchilledout (9/1), Umberto D'olivate (14/1), Royale Django (25/1)
WALDORF SALAD can return to form by taking this competitive looking handicap chase. The selection won over C&D off a 23lb higher mark just over two years ago and with the yard in much better form than they have been previously this season he can register his fourth chase success. Midnight Monty has run well in a couple of conditions events the last twice and he can confirm February's Sandown running with Renard, a stablemate of the selection.
- Waldorf Salad
- Midnight Monty
- Renard
