His progression over hurdles has been steady and no more with this his second run after a wind operation. Successful on his last start improving past an exposed sort he carries a penalty here but ought to be able to cope with that.

Looked in need of the experience when last seen over hurdles and has gained that now winning four of his last five point-to-point starts (latest 24th March). Now returns under Rules for a yard that do well with this sort.

Showed some fair form in bumpers before being switched to hurdles (given a considerate introduction) but failed to build on that initial run last time. Far too free on that occasion he looks the sort to do better in handicaps further down the line.

Placed in point-to-points he shaped better than his final position when making his bumper debut recently despite being beaten 30L in testing conditions. Has some useful relations in his family and will be interesting to see what he can produce here.

Wind surgery doesn't appear to have brought about any improvement and he's been well beaten on two hurdles starts since that operation. Would need to make a fair amount of improvement to take a hand here.
Well held in bumpers when trained in Ireland (only beat one home in those two runs) but has since joined a successful Northern yard. Suspect it will be a while before we see much from him though.

Finally managed to finish off a race last time when finishing a poor fourth last time out in a novice hurdle breaking a run of pulled-ups in his form figures. Makes little appeal.

Struggling to make any impact over Rules having been kept busy in point-to-points but looks held here and would have more chance in low-grade handicaps.

First start under Rules having failed to complete the course in three point-to-points early last year. Others make far more appeal.

Forecasts

Knockrobin (2/5), Just Bobby (11/4), Glittering Love (11/2), Parsonal (20/1), Phantom Isle (25/1), The Paddy Pie (33/1), Trust Me I'm A Dr (50/1), Beyond The Glen (66/1), Beyond The Stars (66/1)

Verdict

Going point-to-pointing appears to have really helped GLITTERING LOVE grow up and gain experience and getting weight from his main rival out of a yard that do well with their young prospects he’s given a narrow vote. Knockrobin appears to have been helped by a wind operation but has to give away a penalty here and that may just take this race away from him. Parsonal is a very interesting debutante over hurdles given his run last time while Just Bobby should be watched with a view to the future.
  1. Glittering Love
  2. Knockrobin
  3. Parsonal
