Triple winning point-to-pointer suited to give underfoot. In poor form lately judged on two poor displays between the flags.

Fly Westh19

9/4
Landed three point-to-points by an aggregate of 57L in 2017 and split two useful types at Milborne St Andrew three weeks ago. Has an experienced rider on board as he faces some useful local point-to-pointers in what looks an intriguing clash.

Manhattan Meadp153
Age: 8|  Weight: 12-0| J: Ben Jones(7)| T: Paul Hamer| OR:  92
16/1
Landed a maiden point-to-point over a year ago and has run respectably since. Last of four finishers on heavy ground last time and cheekpieces will need to produce some improvement.
Recorded a faster time than Fly West when beating a strong field at Milborne St Andrew last month and collateral form lines give him a clear edge over that same rival.

Two heavy ground victories this winter take his point-to-point tally to five. Has not jumped regulation fences well in the past, but he rates an obvious danger if improving in that department.

40/1 when well beaten here in January and he faces a strong lineup again. Yet to prove himself on ground as heavy as this and others are readily preferred.

Verdict

Some good local point-to-pointers are put to the test here. Fly West catches the eye with Josh Newman booked to ride. The lightly raced ten-year-old split a useful pair of horses last time, but form lines via that contest suggest he has work to do with MASTER BAKER who recorded an eight seconds faster time when beating the useful Alternatif on the same card. Moral Hazard has been in good form this winter and has coped with heavy ground to land back-to-back successes. The one concern is his jumping of regulation fences in the past, but if ironing out those deficiencies he will be dangerous.
  1. Master Baker
  2. Moral Hazard
  3. Fly West
