Recorded an eased-down 3¾L win over C&D (good) on debut almost a year ago and almost matched that effort under a penalty at Fakenham in November. Dam won on soft ground, so he may be able to handle it and is very much respected.
€24,000 foal who increased to €30,000 as a yearling. Eighth foal and half-brother to three winners at 2m-2m4f over hurdles. Dam unraced full-sister to brilliant stayer Yeats. Top stable is 19% in bumpers this season. Could go well.

Third foal of a 3m hurdle winning half-sister to bumper/ staying hurdle winners Malindi Bay and Smart Mover. Stable 1-21 in this sphere this season and slight concern at hood for this debut and probably one to watch.
Made a reasonably good debut when third (beaten 15½L) at Worcester (good) in September, though well below that form at Bangor next time. Returns fresh for a stable in decent form, though unusually without a bumper winner this season.

Improved on his debut when beaten just over 1L at Worcester (good) in September. Well beaten after a break at Huntingdon last time but stable is 23% in this sphere this season, so not one to write off now tried in headgear.

Beaten 3L by comfortable winner on debut at Newcastle (2m, Tapeta) last month, but given that he was 12L clear of the remainder it was encouraging. Can improve for that experience and enters calculations on turf debut.

€14,000 foal. Dam placed in a bumper and half-sister to 2m-2m4f hurdle/smart chase winner William's Wishes and both useful bumper winner Lord Wishes and smart bumper winner Acey Milan. Stable usually at 12% in this sphere but 0-23 this season.

Third foal of a bumper/2m hurdle winning full-sister to Champion Bumper winner Ballyandy and three other bumper winners. Stable among winners and 16% in this discipline, while booking of champion also positive. Interesting.
Cost €16,500 as a yearling and that increased to €70,000 at three. Half-brother to a 2m5f-2m7f hurdle winner out of a 1m and 1m2f Flat/2m hurdle winner. Stable 2-30 in bumpers this term, which is lower than usual strike rate. Market check advised.

Forecasts

Dorking Boy (11/4), Myplaceatmidnight (4/1), Ballyellis (4/1), Akarita Lights (8/1), The Bunnyman (8/1), Francky Du Berlais (8/1), Guiding Stars (12/1), Any Minute Now (12/1), Iwilldoit (12/1), Burning Bright (50/1)

Verdict

Myplaceatmidnight has invaluable winning experience and has to be respected, while Francky Du Berlais, Akarita Lights and Guiding Stars are probably all capable of improvement on their previous outings. Of the newcomers, Any Minute Now looks very interesting on paper, though the suggestion is DORKING BOY, whose pedigree and jockey booking mark him out in this field.
  1. Dorking Boy
  2. Akarita Lights
  3. Myplaceatmidnight
