Escapes a penalty for winning last time out and that automatically makes him of interest especially as he won readily and competes off a lower hurdling mark. Didn't have a hard race when winning at Plumpton (travelled well); leading chance.

His recent record is rather patchy and he did nothing to dispel that pattern last time out when finishing a one-paced third at Taunton over 3m. Remains above his last winning mark and not one to rely on.

Appeared to take well to the hood (retained) when making his handicap debut (well backed) over 2m here in February. Given his decent bumper form and his position in the market more could have been expected; interesting to see what he produces now.

Makes his handicap debut after again finishing well held in a novice last time out. His opening mark looks far from generous though on the evidence so far and he's of limited interest for now.

Seen to maximum effect when ending his long losing run last time on the Flat in first-time blinkers (had the run of the race). Now returned to hurdles having been out of sorts when last tried over them off a 7lb lower mark.

In good form when last seen in the summer winning twice for this yard at Newton Abbot off lowly marks having only just joined this yard. Looked held off this sort of mark on his last run but couldn't be totally ruled out having run well fresh before.

This will only be her third run for this yard but she looks rather exposed and was pulled-up when last seen over this sort of trip. Remains a maiden over hurdles others appeal more.

Overcame some problems in-running when showing a good battling attitude to win at Towcester in testing conditions over 2m3f. Not quite managed to match that run since although neither run has really shown her in the best light (too keen last time).

Had hardly shaped as though she was one to follow when she went into handicaps and so it proved with a poor effort on debut in that sphere. Dropped 5lb with the cheekpieces reached for it requires a leap of faith to support her now.

Verdict

Far from a quality contest there are quite a few that need treating with caution in this and the safest option may be to side with the unpenalised RAMORE WILL who won a similar contest last time out and didn’t appear to have a hard race. Bolving has to be of interest again especially if he could repeat his good bumper form here while Theatre Stage should be watched closely in the market he could be better than his mark. Telmadela off bottom weight comes into the argument if he’s now worse for a fall last time while Clearly Capable has to be looked if he’s ready to rumble after a break with The Mighty Ash looking to back up his good run with Richard Johnson now taking over the ride.
  1. Ramore Will
  2. Theatre Stage
  3. Bolving
